There is contact with an arm across him, but it's normal contact of bodies coming together. This angle shows Raya being weak, should have punched, and has gotten away with the still image. Different story is Raya is in the air when keepers should be afforded the protection.

I think ruling the goal out for Raya being weak is shite, players put their arms across all the time fighting for position, Raya should have went through that arm

It was definitely a foul on Raya in yesterday’s game. However, weren’t there fouls elsewhere in the same passage? It’s becoming virtually impossible to officiate a game at corners. The authorities are going to need to consider bringing in a rule to stop this farce that has taken the shine off this season.

@jim0gibson @DavieTheBuddie1 I think our injury list is a bit “chicken and egg”. I’ve heard a couple of times this weekend for example that our goalie isn’t as injured as being made out.

Looking back at that performance half the boys look like they already have their mind on their next move in the summer. I would be surprised if any of the players out contract will be here next season even if we stay up. Tanser I hear is on his way 2 Falkirk.

@Bigmanjrr @DougieCritchley There's contact but it's not a foul, it's not a sustained hold his arms just there when Raya lifts his. Raya should have punched the ball in a messy area full of bodies. 17 replays and still have been watched and not judged it in full speed with everything going on.

Just because there have been other contentious incidents at corners this season... Some involving Arsenal... It doesn't mean yesterday's wasn't a foul. Every incident has to be refereed on it's own merits. We can't be saying "Team A got away with one last week, so I won't give them this." Everyone is frustrated when there are blatant inconsistencies in refereeing, but EVERY incident has to be looked at fresh, without any bias or factoring in past history.

The shirt pull by Todibo is actually the contentious aspect of this whole thing. Raya is piss poor here

Raya goes in to Pablos arm lifting his own arms up to make a catch. Keepers usually punch with more aggression and like 'go through' players to get to the ball.

@matovu93 @themichaelowen Oh yeah a quick counter is what you needed 😂 when there is a load of bodies keepers usually opt for a punch as more aggressive and safer than risking dropping. Not for me to say it doesn't work for Raya across the season, but here he's weak as fuck, he's not even in the air.

@matovu93 @themichaelowen In a busy area Raya should have went safe and punched. He comes in to a crowded area and is weak as fuck. Pablos arm doesn't do anything out the ordinary. Keepers defo need protecting when they are in the air, here Raya had made the decision to catch at head height.

@adrianjclarke The catch is head height, he's not jumping. He's came out in to a group of bodies (West Ham players arm was up first) he's just a coming together and Raya has been weak, should have punched. It's less of a foul that Martinez one who was in the air and that needs protection.

People see what they want to see but Raya was clearly fouled as he was about to catch the ball. All the other stuff going on in the box is usual corner kick nonsense. Raya is prevented from catching the cross. That trumps everything. There's no controversy. Great VAR call.

Massive credit to @daviidraya1 tonight - if he had tried to punch that ball, he might not have got away it but because he had the balls and the bravery to come out to catch it, the foul was correctly given! #safehands #arswhu
