At approximately 11:40 p.m. on Sunday, a Jazz Aviation flight operating on behalf of Air Canada was involved in an incident on Runway 4 at LaGuardia Airport in which the aircraft struck a Port Authority Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting vehicle that was responding to a separate incident. Emergency response protocols were immediately activated. The Port Authority Police Department is on scene along with the agency’s Chairman and Executive Director. The airport is currently closed to facilitate the response and allow for a thorough investigation. This is a developing situation based on preliminary information. The Port Authority Police Department is working closely with our airline partners as well as federal authorities and will provide additional updates as more details become available.

@Leprechaun642 @NotifyNYC @FDNY Different flight. There was a Delta that was reporting a smell. The rescue unit was heading to them. The ACA flight was fine and simply landing on runway 04. Unfortunately the rescue unit crossed runway 04 at the same time.

@NotifyNYC @FDNY Prayers for anyone involved,but if the air craft reported a odor on board,why didn't they just drop the oxygen mask and then proceed to a place till the fire truck got to them. IMO

Whenever US starts loudly beating the national security drum abt Cuba, it is usually a smokescreen for economic interests and domestic election math. In reality, this is a 60 year old business grudge the US finally has leverage to settle. After tightening sanctions on Venezuela and squeezing Ir@n, Washington has Cuba economically cornered, with severe fuel shortages, repeated nationwide blackouts, and oil shipments drying up under pressure from US sanctions. The real prize is not ideology. It is strategic assets i.e, massive nickel and cobalt reserves critical for EV batteries, an $8 billion tab in American property claims seized after the 1959 revolution, and a captive market where US tourism developers and agribusiness would love to push out the European and Canadian companies currently dominating Cuba’s resort sector. But this is where the Venezuela playbook hits a wall. Cuba’s system is not built around one leader who can simply be flipped; it is a deeply entrenched military bureaucratic structure that has survived six decades of pressure. Any collapse would likely be slow and painful, with fuel shortages, failing infrastructure, and blackouts already hitting ordinary ppl the hardest while the regime tightens its grip. Globally, Russia and China would lose a valuable geopolitical foothold only 90 miles from the US mainland, but the ppl who would suffer most are the Cubans caught in the middle of this superpower tug of w@r. Washington will gain influence and political points in Florida, but forcing regime change is never clean, and trying to manage multiple geopolitical crises at once could easily turn a promised victory lap into a very messy balancing act. Honestly, watching Washington frame this as a pure freedom crusade sometimes feels like a property developer claiming they care abt the history of a neighborhood while quietly circling the last beachfront lot with a bulldozer and a suitcase full of cash. #Cuba #Trump

@MYHockeyRanking Glad we didn't here in Canada. I understand the technological and monetary reasons behind them, but I absolutely hate them. If they were static ads it wouldn't be so bad. But the animation causes me to be distracted and look at the boards instead of the play.
