Love books, sport and especially family. Currently enjoy taking each day as it comes and adapting my will to circumstances rather than circumstances to my will.

@kensafs @SpeakerPelosi So basically, the US has to ask itself (via Congress) for permission to leave ##NATO. Then, the US has to vote whether it can actually leave. You couldn't make it up.

77 years ago, America and our allies came together to form NATO—an alliance rooted in peace & democracy.   Trump's threats to leave are not only shortsighted, they're a gift to Vladimir Putin.   The law is clear: No President can withdraw from NATO without Congressional approval.

🤩 🇮🇪 🍀 Excellent contrast in the Oval Office. Micheál Martin stepping in to back Keir Starmer in front of Donald Trump. Europe is starting to close ranks. And Micheál Martin stood his ground, even reminding Donald Trump that Winston Churchill is a mixed figure in Ireland. 👏 No sucking up! Just diplomacy with backbone.

@StanCollymore Summer non-chaotic reboot. Move high earners/under performers (who seem undroppabe) on. Create space for existing young talent plus a couple of signings to bring much needed energy.

@jlpobrien Seems odd that none of the major UK cities (outside London) e.g. Liverpool, Manchester and Birmingham feature. My gg grandparents came to Birmingham in the late 1860's so maybe Ireland to UK immigration numbers ramped up after this period.

The 2026 World Cup shouldn’t be played in a country whose president just posted that it’s a “great honor” to kill Iranians. Move every match to Canada and Mexico. Or every nation should withdraw. The FIFA Peace Prize recipient is now bragging about genocide. Read that again.

Currently watching #IRESCO in the #RugbySixNations. My Irish heritage dictates who I'm supporting (a welcome break until FRAENG tonight!!). Might be a daft question but why are the anthems sung in English?

@amc89avfc Yes. We will get that extra place so 5th is definitely a CL spot. Could be 6 CL places if we (or Forest) finish outside top 5 and win the Europa. Could even be 7 if (say) Chelsea finish outside top 5 and win the CL.

@JohnCleese It was their way of saying "we've run out of good programmes so, rather than broadcast any old crap, we'll give it a rest". Otherwise known as #TheGoodOldDays

@StanCollymore Ultra-slow build up is resulting in high possession levels but also means our CBs are becoming playmakers, which they aren't suited to. We're getting done by high energy opponents. Something needs to change or our season may be over by the end March #UTV

Unai's philosophy is fundementally sound. "We play slow which forces the opponent to play slow which means we control the game and conserve energy minutes with a small squad " But... Playing slow now means teams only have to play ( Leeds, scrapping for their lives, Brentford, Europe, Everton, Europe, Wolves, pride, Chelsea, top 4) above our tempi to get a result. And that list of teams and every other for the remainder will have something to play for even if it's individuals wanting a move or get in a World Cup squad, nevermind relegation or Europe! So we have to have the mentality of a relegation threatened team, play 3 gears higher and we'll pick up points. But I guarantee if we play the "Emi stands on it, 16 passes across the back, back to Emi who gives a hospital pass to Dougie " then ANY TEAM in this League can see us off. Any. So Villa Park on Wednesday, make the fucking roof come off and Unai should be sending the players running out like Rugby internationals. Frothing. No more passive, that's early to mid season. Now? Dogs of war.

@StanCollymore Stan, why is everyone can see what’s needed this slow football is killing every aspect of our game, yet teams play over the top against all the time and find joy why can’t we switch it up ?

Watching the men's ice hockey gold- medal match #USACAN #WinterOlympicGames. Like the graphic that shows the shots on target but why don't they use a high-vis puck? Asking for a friend.
