opay, a chinese app has completely destroyed nigerian traditional banks because they understand the market and what their consumers want. fast transactions simple UI they even added “9999” option because we were complaining about the charges on 10k above. meanwhile access bank will lock you out of your app and your own money for days.

Africa won’t be free until corruption becomes a crime with consequences, not a career with benefits.

@Alhajirostova Let's stay within the political discourse context. In other developed countries, people that age can run for political office and start making significant changes

On this diaspora salary issue No follow people dey charge what you think you should charge. Assess yourself and charge what you are worth Not everyone inspiring you to charge 5k USD is charging 5k USD. Some of them just got that 5k USD once in their career. Some of them still take 500 USD jobs on a steads. So, assess and charge. And yes, salary based on location is a thing. If you work with Google in Nairobi, you can NEVER be paid the same as the Google staff in Palo Alto. Because the cost of living in Palo Alto is wild. So its a thing. but it does not justify a rip-off Also, the person in the UK or Canada does not need to pay you Canada or UK rate by default. your skill level can push it to that level though, but its not default. And to the Nigerians in the UK(especially), just because you don't have to pay UK rate doesn't mean you should pay sty rates like you're paying a pig. If you don't have money for a startup, continue your work or build it yourself.

Everyone on twitter is a billionaire and life is good. Who are the people earning N300k in Lagos leaving home 5am to return 9pm?
