@JAHeale He's got to be a strong contender. As local as it gets, tradesman, served in the British Army as a reservist. He would definitely bring out the Reform vote.

Had some messages from Reformers who want Robert Kenyon, the Makerfield candidate who won 32% in 2024. “He’s our Hannah Spencer”, says one - a reference to Kenyon’s job as a plumber. Emphasises local roots and the base’s tradition in a high-profile, high-stakes race.

Not so long ago, the stock image of someone from the far-Right was easily summoned: they’d be male, obviously, and very probably bald, and questionable tattoos. The face of the far-Right, it seems, is changing – and it’s becoming a good deal prettier ⬇️ telegraph.co.uk/news/2026/05/1…

Politics really is moving at lightning speed right now. With Josh Simons resigning as Labour MP for Makerfield stepping down from his elected seat purely so that he can pave the way for Andy Burnham to return to Westminster and put himself forward as Labour’s prospective parliamentary candidate as he eyes up a future leadership bid. But let’s not forget what that actually means. If Andy Burnham wants to stand as an MP again, he would immediately have to resign as Mayor of Greater Manchester — the very role the people of Manchester elected him to do. At a time when the country is crying out for stability, leadership and politicians focused on the people they were elected to serve, Westminster once again seems consumed by internal power struggles and positioning. The reality is the Labour Party is now showing very visible cracks. MPs are openly panicking, rumours of leadership plots are everywhere and the public can see exactly what is happening. Meanwhile ordinary people are struggling with rising costs, pressure on public services and concerns about the future of this country. The political establishment knows the ground is shifting beneath them. Reform UK is no longer being ignored because millions of people across Britain are now looking for a genuine alternative to the same old political games. The next few months in British politics are going to be very, very interesting. WHAT A MESS……. AND A VERY EXPENSIVE ONE AS WELL FOR THE TAXPAYER!!

I respect this. It was an act of sacrifice and an honourable thing to do. Yet acknowledging the damage that Starmer and the LABOUR party have caused, won't help them. The rot he describes is inherent in the ideology of almost all of the Labour party. The two Westminster behemoths have held this nation hostage through their continued adherence to Blairism and have inflicted all manner of ills upon us. The public knows this and will vote for the one party that will cut out the rot, not just plaster over it. @reformparty_uk is coming to Makerfield!

@ZiaYusufUK Polanski finally gave the Tories the broad church they wanted. The only ones not invited are patriots that love their country, culture and identity.

Streeting describes Reform as a "dangerous English nationalism". In seats, it came second in Wales and joint-second in Scotland.

@studaviesreform Wear any referral to Hate not Hope as a badge of honour. They've lost all legitimacy and respect.

A recent FOI request revealed that one of my Labour colleagues referred me to Hope Not Hate simply because I became a Reform UK councillor. Quite frankly, that is disgraceful. Such a referral is rooted in political bias, stereotypes, and tired left wing narratives. A councillor should know better than to label or judge someone solely because of their political affiliation. This kind of divisive attitude is exactly what many people in this country are rejecting and it’s one of the reasons Labour is rapidly losing support, both nationally and locally. People should be free to support a political party without being subjected to prejudice, smears, or personal attacks. These photos make the accusations and referrals even more absurd. This is our party and one I’m proud to stand with. In Reform UK, you are judged on your character, values, and merit. Vote Reform. Get Reform.

Despite repeated warnings from judges, lawyers, opposition MPs and even his own backbenchers, Keir Starmer’s government is pressing ahead with plans to restrict our right to trial by jury. Restricting jury trials is a full-scale assault on English liberty — especially free speech. FSU research shows that people charged with speech-related offences are almost twice as likely to be acquitted in a Crown Court before a jury than in a magistrates’ court without one. Jury trials are a vital bulwark against an increasingly authoritarian state and a militant cancel-culture mob — both of which pose an acute threat today.

Ed Davey saying the quiet part out loud. He wants PR to happen just to stop Reform. He sees Reform as a threat to democracy after *checks notes* millions of people voted for Reform to win the local elections. A liberal’s motto is if you can’t beat them, change the system.

Today I became a member of Reform UK. That may not sound like much to some people, but for me it’s significant. I have never joined a political party before because I never fully trusted any of them. The momentum behind Reform UK over the last few days has shown that millions of people want real political change, and are willing to unite behind Nigel Farage to make it happen. I am confident he will be Britain's next Prime Minister.
