Instead of a balance-leaning control pad, they aimed to release a balanced, leaning speed pad. They were able to achieve just that. My unit was perfectly uniform, with the edges of the pad feeling the same as the center; it sticks very well to my desk, and the unit arrived perfectly flat. I actually enjoy using this pad more in tactical shooters like CS2 and Valorant than in more track-heavy games like COD and Overwatch. The pad reminds me a lot of the GLSSWRKS Akari. It has a floaty, matte surface feel with very minimal skin stick. In addition, I never felt the need to use a sleeve while gaming. Surface The pad's surface is on the smoother side. It does have a slight texture from the micro-etching, but I really enjoy this, as it gives me slight feedback while playing, which I prefer with glasspads. Sometimes, when a pad is too smooth, I tend to overflick/underflick, but the pad's feedback gives me a gentle reminder to stop. The rounded edges on the pad are very uniform and nicely done. They feel very comfortable when placing my arm on the pad, and you can't even notice it is there while using it. The art on the pad is very clear, and the design is very appealing. Pros × Pad is consistent throughout, with no unevenness around the edges compared to the center × Collectibles are very unique and add to the unboxing experience × Clean design that is unique compared to the common trend seen on glasspads × Very beginner-friendly. I would say this is a very good pad to purchase if you haven't used a glass pad before Cons × I am not the biggest fan of the skates provided. I get the intention of providing more controlled skates for newer users, but I personally think UPE is a poor material for skates. × I would love to see a custom base or one that covers edge-to-edge. Although the pad does stick to my desk, it has begun to fray because the corners of the rubber base are exposed, which makes it easy to pull back while storing or changing pads. Final Impressions Overall, this pad is a 4.2/5. This is a very good pad. It checks off all the boxes needed for a balanced, introductory pad for users. The Lock-On pad builds on its predecessor's foundation, shifting toward a speed-focused experience without sacrificing control. Its consistent surface, minimal skin friction, and subtle micro-texture create a balanced glide that feels especially well-suited for tactical shooters, where precision matters most. While there are minor drawbacks, such as the included skates and the exposed rubber base, they don't significantly take away from the overall experience. After extended use across a variety of games, the pad proves to be reliable, comfortable, and approachable, even for those new to glass surfaces. Overall, it's a strong release that delivers on its goal of being a beginner-friendly, speed-leaning glass pad while still offering enough control to satisfy more experienced players.
