@gghoul Exactly my thoughts! To add onto what you said, I believe people swap their peripherals so often they never get to see their full potential aim/gameplay-wise. If everybody hard-stuck to a setup for at least 6 months they'd see more improvement than they do from swapping mice etc.

100%! i was having a conversation with someone yesterday and they said something like "i played better before i had all this expensive gear" now were so focused on the gear instead of WHY we got the gear. when we only had 1 available loadout all we COULD do is focus on the game and grind for improvement

peripherals being boring, dead or stale isn't a bad thing. if anything, it shows how many GOOD options we have. virtually EVERYTHING performs well and its getting cheaper and cheaper. now, as players, its on US to use the gear to progress in game. actually APPLYING all this cool stuff we have is a bigger issue in my eyes. lets strive for improvement and growth while we wait for new innovations! also, the only big innovations have been hall effect keyboards and extremely light sub 30g mice. i dont think HITS impacts gamers general use case as much as the aforementioned. but, i still think its the best in minecraft pvp, fortnite and for single shot weapons like pistols/dmrs.
