@Saddlerred @MattGPT7 @MittensOff Bless. You've deleted your original ill-advised post when people were saying hurty words about him. Must be a lonely job, being part of the "silent majority" 😆

Apparently 'flag shagging' and people being run over by cherry pickers is ruining lives. The Supreme Leader of Flag Shaggers Ryan Bridge has been disowned by his family, some have even said they were glad he was arrested. What could he have done to avoid all this hurt, and ideas folks?

@TheatreSpoonie This is one of the best things about Spain is the range of nice salads in all the restaurants here. I hadn't really discovered salads until I moved here.

@Jeremy_Hunt I'm pretty sure "Britain will grow faster than some EU countries" wasn't one of the selling points of Brexit. The UK was growing faster than many of them before Brexit, too.

Britain has grown faster than many large European countries since Brexit so reopening the debate is a pointless distraction from the solving the real problems we face
Sky News@SkyNews

Former Tory chancellor Jeremy Hunt says "we can find a way to flourish outside the EU" and that the Brexit debate isn't one we want to have now. His comments come after Wes Streeting said the UK should rejoin the EU. trib.al/Rx0iR33 | @CathyNewman 📺 Sky 501 and YT

@EpochOfWhat @TedUrchin Aha. I see that you HAVE run away now that you've made an idiot of yourself. The ECHR thing was just the icing on the cake, especially when the net immigration statistic for 2013 was 860,000 and since 1980 the echr has prevented exactly 13 deportations.

@EpochOfWhat @TedUrchin Yep. Taking 2023 as an example, since government statistics say that immigration was driven by work visas, study visas and visas granted to Ukrainian and Hong Kong citizens, please feel free to highlight how the ECHR impacts any of these things.

Freedom of movement. Do you remember that? The time when we could all choose to live and work in the EU as easily in Berlin as Brighton, Paris or Plymouth, Madrid as Manchester, Lisbon or London. The old and the stupid stole this from us, and particularly from the young of the nation. I will never ever forgive them. #RejoinEU

@EpochOfWhat @TedUrchin Mate you're trying to argue that immigration from non-EU sources massively spiked after Brexit because "The ECHR" If that doesn't make a solid statement about your intelligence, I don't know what does.

@Lockethenes1 @TedUrchin Weird how you're trying to frame it as something else then, still at least you acknowledge the futility of your argument. 😁👍🏻 Not much more intelligent than anybody else, but demonstratively more intelligent than you, which is why you can't let it go. 🤣

I do, but that wasn't your motivation, you're in point scoring mode because your fragile little ego has been damaged. 🤣 That was 4 (forgot to highlight your 3rd reply). One more chance to engage in good faith. Let's see what you do, will you demonstrate humility or double down on trying to salvage your ego.

@EpochOfWhat @TedUrchin Oh dear oh dear. Poor effort. 1)That has nothing to do with the EU, predates it and was driven in no small part by the UK. 2)Practically all of the non-EU migration on that chart is legal and thus visa-driven. The ECHR makes no provision on the policy behind this.

@Lockethenes1 @TedUrchin The European Convention on Human Rights, which we should leave and write bespoke UK legislation for. That's 2. 3 more, champ.

@Lockethenes1 @TedUrchin Yes, that's what it says, not what you think it says. 🤣 Given you appear to be on a mission to salvage whatever is left of your fragile little ego, I'll give you 5 more opportunities to either accept defeat or to engage in good faith. I'm rooting for you. 👍🏻🤣

@EpochOfWhat @TedUrchin More melodramatic handwaving. Which of these "treaties" relates to immigration policy and prevents the UK from reducing non-EU migration?

@Lockethenes1 @TedUrchin We are still beholden to treaties we've signed that are overseen by the Council of Europe. Full sovereignty means leaving these treaties and creating bespoke, UK specific legislation.

@EpochOfWhat @TedUrchin P.s. it's "throes", not "throws". If you're going to invent a melodramatic narrative about how you've won because you're just so much more intelligent, at least get the diction right.

@EpochOfWhat @TedUrchin Your claim was that the massive spike in immigration after Brexit was because of legacy commitments or treaties with the EU, that the UK was "unable to stop them". Yet you now say none of these treaties and commitments relate to non-EU migration?

It doesn't, but given our interactions thus far, I'm not surprised that you are trying to manifest a more convenient reality for yourself. 🤣 In answer to your point: None, but you clearly don't understand the difference between: 1) Freedom of movement. 2) Legal migration. 3) Illegal Immigration. It's still not going well for you, is it champ? 😬🤣

@EpochOfWhat @TedUrchin Because a bunch of news reports from sources like the sun don't mean that everybody who voted for Brexit did so because they personally suffered at the hands of foreign criminals or that the streets are overrun. In fact, it means very little from those sorts of sources.

The one on the right is my van. The one on the left sits higher than my van, weighs more than my van, has less storage space than a VW Golf, weighs around 1000kgs more than a Golf and almost 700kgs more than our own EV. With the high risk of these burning down an airport carpark in Luton, their horrific emissions, reliability, fuel economy and weight, it’s a wonder why people buy them.

@EpochOfWhat @TedUrchin I'm using the same "evidence" that you've provided for criminal gangs in the UK to make a similar ridiculous claim about Spain. This also very much shows that EU membership has little to do with entry of criminals and in fact makes identification and deportation more challenging.
