Look at World Cup winners just from 2010 to 2022. Do you know what they had? At least one, most cases more advantage creators who enabled the defensive and offensive game. Argentina took a huge leap the moment Enzo got introduced. Shock? No. He enabled Messi to get the ball at better spots, and even now that remains case as circulation is better. You CANT play without passers.

It’s not. England midfielders haven’t delivered to expectations but they have DONE enough to enable it. Also it’s club-coached NT which has clear patterns. If you believe tactical game isn’t make or break when you’re evenly matched in deep ends, then this convo ends here as there’s proof of concept that you need structure, roles and plan to gel together.

i'm very curious to see if mbappe will have the balls to call out zizou like he's done with basically every other coach he's had the moment something goes wrong in a major tournament for him

Granit Xhaka walks into Real Madrid midfield and makes it much better - since Enzo is off the table. If Real Madrid could actually develop some strategically correct brains- they start targeting right profiles. Sign Rodri + Xhaka as back-up Solve B2B issue Optimise Bellingham as two-way Then let the Mourinho (lol in 2026) force both Vinicius and Mbappé to work as a team and can use a RHS creative hub in Arda Guler too. There’s pieces of winning squad already here, but not one that will win unless properly addressed. I have HUGE scepticism on the coach but I believe two players like Rodri and Xhaka would give enough edge to overcome tactical deficiencies because the Mbappe-Vini-Bellingham are game changers in low margin sport.

They FORCED the moments who were barely even there. It wasn’t even a match. A training ground for Spain who took them for a spin, stayed disciplined and utilised all strengths. As DLF put it: “France have best players (referring them three) and we are the best team.” 11 v 3 cannot be a debate to happen.

talking about going man to man when he should know that is close to impossible with him on the pitch after a game where even if the manager got it wrong tactically, the bigger issue was just mbappe, dembele, olise being piss poor in the moments they need to capitalize on regardless of tactical shortcomings is sly as hell man.

Why is he getting blamed that France haven’t developed worthy midfield pairing since Pogba and Kanté? Look at the trend of winning teams and all start there. Real Madrid is particularly at fault for both Tchouameni and Camavinga but you’re telling me they can’t develop at least one and depend on Rabiot? It’s all fun and games until you reach tactical stages where everything has to he correct. Granit Xhaka and Swiss have better advantage creators.

@Loconteee ftr i don't think he will because zizou has a standing in the sport and france that just supersedes anything we've ever seen for a coach. but i wonder who he'll blame if he fails with him as well then lol.

@hiimdabby What did he do that is so wrong? He said team didn’t play tactically and technically worthy of a semi finalist and he was fully correct on it.

@Loconteee deschamps treats him like a son and has been a catalyst in his most important career moments and that wasn't enough. he's thrown shit at every coach he's ever had outside of xabi and even that probably would have happened eventually if xabi had stayed longer.

Games are decided by attacking plays- where attackers have to be platformed. The game starts with 11 players on-pitch, 3 lines and first two have to enable last one to create advantages. And we looked at France- they were same as Real Madrid who have the firepower but can’t reach it because there is no progression of means to create such advantages. “Transitional football” is now created artificially by: - Manufacturing space - Creating diversion - Setting up traps - Playing on the receivers advantages All those tangible skills often come by commanding the first two phases, that includes progressive coach with cohesion and on/off ball leaders who will dictate the flow.
s@exfootballfan

Look at France. I genuinely don't get the obsession with spending big on midfielders. Sign elite attackers & pair them with a midfield that's simply good enough to control transitions and stop counterattacks. That's the winning formula. Games are decided by attackers.

@BrendanRMA11 I don’t hate him. I don’t see the need for him. I see the need where money should be allocated and believe position was well covered well enough to get by- unlike other needs.

@Loconteee A player who has come at the request of Jose Mourinho who’s eye for talent has always been great and has performed as one of the best left backs for both Spain and Chelsea over the past couple years. I don’t even like cucurella but you consistently hating on him is weird

Cucurella is a bad defender with high motor. - Reads passages of play poorly - Does not react on time - Never checks opponents body orientation before commuting It’s extremely hard to watch this guy play football- amateurish mistakes after amateurish mistakes.

@muideennn What can attackers do when they’re not supplemented properly? Genuine question. If you’re an offensive-hub, you need the pass+move to enable it which Spain completely took out.

@ItsUtsha I have my opinion on him and don’t see the €55M worth. Either way, nothing changes this club trajectory until they sort the real problem.

@Loconteee Have some shame after criticizing Cucu man. You may not like a player but there is no wrong in appreciating someone when they drop an excellent performance.

Controllers + High engine passers making difference in International Level but Real Madrid fans believe trophies won by managers will miraculously solve the slowest ball retention to ever exist. I hate this club profiling with every ounce of me and NOTHING can save them until they sort this issue out. Club level football is FAR MORE requiring of the profiles (more games, drills. longer periods) and you will not go anywhere until you solve it.

Jude Bellingham is the only player to have proven he can completely wipe the floor with Rodri and take him out. Did it on club & International level- but he has one more hurdle to get there. Please, Jude.

That Germany had Toni Kroos- so yes they could go toe to toe still and lapse in judgment during last moments cost them. No TEAM has a Toni Kroos. So that’s another context but to take him out, they needed pockets which the injury created and DLF is simply making most out of it.

It’s actually quite incredible how one injury opens the landscape of a manager and creates a winning formula. Germany were steamrolling them, that happens and Spain get back-in, DLF gives a shot v Portugal to same and they get absolutely crushed and now lesson learned- doesn’t repeat the mistakes, foxes the tiny bits, introduces switching defensively and they’re here. One moment.

Yes. I’ll complete avoid how DLF set the team up, attacked the lines and constantly used switches in defense to mitigate opponents and give credit to a guy that quite literally got called out yday by Spain’s best and most important player. When Lamine Yamal is tore down to shreds by everyone; just know you guys with such ridiculous statements are reason of.
