This is such a good point. If PPG fails to bring Valko back, global trust in the entire Chinese game industry will take a hit. And their whole mission to bring Chinese culture to the mainstream will fail too

I’m not sure whether this is another one of those paid articles, but this part towards the end is important, that if R&D resources are consumed, or discarded, based on public opinion battles, then not only is the company at risk with consumer trust, but it also affects the ENTIRE industry’s ability to continuously product high quality content and expand their markets because it risks users not wanting to play a live service game anymore due to potential breaking of trust. This is true for all issues leading up to the current Valko announcement, and then exacerbated by the whole Valko cancellation. The article brings up good points. Again, not sure if it’s paid or not, but the perspective it offers is interesting.

This is what's wild to me; our demands are not anywhere close to unreasonable. Just put him back in the game, no changes, no new VAs, just put him right back as if he had never left. Just give back the gamers the content they were promised. Cost $0 to do.
Meanwhile, antis' demands to erase him left the game almost entirely unplayable. And now the developers have to scramble to fix all that coding, retcon the stories, etc. costing the company much more time and money that could have been used to further improve the game's other shortcomings. All while tanking their goodwill and becoming a global embarrassment.
