I grew up listening to John Sterling call Yankees games. I fell in love with the team during their magical run in the late 90s and early 2000s and can still remember his most iconic calls of that era. Games won’t be the same without him.

The New York Yankees today announced that legendary Yankees play-by-play radio voice John Sterling, who has called 5,420 regular season Yankees games and 211 postseason Yankees games, is retiring effective immediately. He will be recognized in a pregame ceremony on Saturday, April 20, and will visit the WFAN booth during the game 🎙️💙
