when i was a child my parents accidentally got red lightbulbs instead of regular ones. they only realised this when they put them in but they were too lazy to change it. half of my childhood was spent walking to the bathroom at night with dark red creepypasta lighting.

When I was in high school my dad convinced me to cover all the lamps and lights in my dorm room with dark yellow theatrical gels. My room was always a very frightening yellow color. This made me insane for a number of years
