Only real G's remember one of the best early games for VR. Great single and pvp multilayer. Hope we see it return to Q3 native some day. @Survios

The "Bodycam" trend in FPS games is odd. I haven't tried them yet, but I will. From the outside it seems as though you're deliberately reducing the quality of the FPS movement experience in favor of "immersion" while simultaneously harming the ability to move and shoot effectively. It's doubly odd as VR has offered many of the immersive visuals insofar as locomotion and weapon interactions while simultaneously improving the feel of moving and shooting, and been doing so for years. Is it that the bodycam approach is novel and near photorealistic? And if that's the case, doesn't it mean the genre is already doomed to fade into obscurity?

Imagine cornering the market on VR BattleRoyales, blowing it by sleeping on it, then trying to catch up on a superior product that dropped a month ago. YIKES

I'm thinking 10 or 11 for their first guns contingent on their continued maturation. I've decided on 22LR platforms (obviously) for the cartridge's light recoil impulse, abundance, and sound signature. Ruger 10/22 is the obvious choice... Or is it? I'm going with the @Tacticalsol Owyhee. It's a Gucci 10/22-ish rifle that can be broken down to back-pack size. It weights like 3 and a half pounds. It's bolt action, ships with a threaded barrel and pic rail for optics AND ships with the Magpul backpacker, a beefy stock that can store up to 3 more 10 round rotary mags and additional supplies. Here's the plan - Buy the gun as a birthday gift and use it as a teaching platform. - Build out the gun with the kids. Teach them how to mount optics and do a laser bore sight. - Show them how to mount a suppressor. -Teach them how to make a 550 cord sling, tie it off to the gun, and how to tie survival knots with 550. - Stuff the stock with fire starter, a life straw or Sawyer water filter, iodine tabs, fishing gear, and a hunting knife. - Take each kid on a dad/daughter/son camping weekend with their new gear and put everything into practice. - Teach them how to start a fire with the basics. - fish with a makeshift pole, the survival line and live bait - hunt small game and teach them how to clean a rabbit or squirrel. - cook fish and small game over the fire. - Filter and treat water in the field - Breakdown the sling to tie off a poncho shelter and sleep on the ground Life skills plus quality bonding. Not recommended for fragile kids.

The military trained me to shoot accurately, but not at speed. You always hear "train your vision", "stare at the spot on the target where you want the bullet to go", and "get your eyes out in front of the gun." After hundreds (thousands?) of hours of dry fire, I'm finally getting there. Short video to demo. Watch the eyes.
