The stock market isn’t for the faint-hearted. ZICHIS has been haemorrhaging my portfolio. Just this week, it’s been dropping over 9% every single day. Only plus is I’m actually down just 2% overall.

I bought 10,000 units of VFD Group shares sometime last year through my bank app. After the application, Anchoria Securities reached out immediately via email to acknowledge the purchase and a couple of weeks ago confirmed my allotment, requesting my CSCS/account details through a form. I imagine the Dangote IPO process will be similar. You subscribe through your bank/fintech/POS channel, your application gets processed by the issuing house/stockbroker, then allotted shares are credited to your CSCS account once allocation is finalized.
Not the little B 💕✨@BlehisBack

Ehehn, back to finance twitter I saw on the news that investors will be able to invest in Dangote’s IPO through POS 😂😂 I need a run down of how that is suppose to work nairametrics.com/2026/05/14/dan…

$70bn is roughly ₦96 trillion. If I had ₦96tn to transform Northern Nigeria, I wouldn’t spend it on vanity projects and endless ribbon cutting ceremonies. I’d focus on human capital, productivity and fixing what already exists. ₦35tn — Education. Education. Education. Not endless new schools. Renovate and modernise existing public schools. Fix classrooms, provide water, toilets, solar power, libraries and laboratories. Retrain teachers aggressively and measure actual learning outcomes, not enrollment propaganda. A Primary 4 child must be able to read and solve basic mathematics confidently. ₦15tn — Healthcare. Upgrade existing general hospitals instead of commissioning empty structures. Every ward must have a functional PHC with maternal care, immunisation, nutrition support, essential drugs, water and electricity. Malnutrition and female health become national priorities. A region cannot develop while mothers die giving birth and children grow up stunted. ₦25tn — Productive Infrastructure. Power. Irrigation. Roads. Broadband. Water. Logistics. Infrastructure must improve productivity, not just create photo opportunities. ₦20tn — Security. Security must mean: farmers can farm, children can attend school safely, and communities can sleep peacefully again. And beyond government, we must deliberately build the private sector. We need a generation with the mindset to build industries, factories, farms, logistics companies and technology firms at scale. More people thinking like Dangote, not people waiting endlessly for government jobs. But having vision alone is not enough. Real transformation requires bringing the right experts together, studying problems properly and building evidence-based solutions. Anything worth investing public resources into must be properly researched, measured and guided by people who truly understand the field.

Assuming you have a budget of $70B and made the undisputed leader of the 19 northern states, how will you spend it to turn around the fortunes of the region?

Woke up and the first thing that came to my mind was a line item in Katsina’s budget report. Societal Re-orientation. In the 2025 report, ₦15.00bn was spent. By Q1 2026, the same line appears again across expenditure classifications: ₦582.85m under capital, ₦269.98m under overhead, and ₦8.41m under other expenditure. That is over ₦861m already in Q1 alone. I don’t want to be unfair, because societal re-orientation can mean many things. What exactly are we re-orienting, who is being re-oriented?
