2 trainee ACPs literally training on the job to do exactly what I'm doing today as a medical doctor. They couldn't even name the main arteries supplying the brain. Even the qualified ACP had no idea which symptoms/signs corresponded to the different areas of brain involved

@JennyAThatcher I got dismissed from a university job during cancer treatment, as I cried in 2 meetings & they said it showed I was emotionally unstable. I've got all the paperwork. I've never spoken publicly about it actually. This is the first time I've acknowledged it in public.

If you can't have open, honest discussions with your doctor without fear of violence or weaponization of your medical record, you're dealing with an abuser, not a healthcare provider.

Funny how I don’t remember any jokes about 9/11 first responders, @jonstewart. Just years of consistent, heartfelt education and advocacy. And yet you’ve chosen to punch down on a group of vulnerable people with miserable quality of lives who really need your help. Sad and gross.

TW: Jon Stewart recently joked about hantavirus coverage and said: “this virus can cause Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, mostly amongst the experts who have to repeatedly answer the same questions.”

This raises an important point. We often must use measures governments would recognize from other areas of research because PEM-specific measures are so early in psychometric development. However, fatigue surveys do not have adequate content validity for PEM. #ContentValidityGap

My brother has autism. He’s twenty-nine now. Works at a grocery store. Restocks shelves. Good at it actually. Very organized. Very systematic. He’s been at the same store for six years. The manager there is a woman named Sharon. When my brother started she didn’t hide him or keep him separate or make his disability a thing. She just put him to work. Treated him like any other employee. Gave him feedback. Corrected him when he needed it. Praised him when he did well. Didn’t perform kindness.

This article that says there have been 890 cases of Hantavirus Pulmonary Syndrome in the USA since 1993, and talks about the Andes *Strain* of Hanta. But Andes is not just a different 'strain' to the Hantavirus in North America... aol.com/articles/docto…

I don't think I have ever been so appalled about public health policy, information, and communication than by what I'm hearing about hanta at the moment. It's like people's brains are just switched off. Like they can't think straight. It's unbelievable.

I’m trying to get something removed from my notes atm. A rheum got angry because I disagreed with her — & said my lupus was in ‘remission’. This has fukt up trearments from other specialities — specifically my Respiratory consultant. It’s a mess. Medical notes ARE being weaponised. So. As you’ve said, I’ve added notes. Had test results and letters from a well regarded rheum (who is also in the NHS) scanned in. It the best I can do.

Holy shit, you guys. Husband was concerned because he had a FIRST TIME abnormal urine cyto since high-grade aggressive cancer following a 10-month treatment gap he didn't get a say in. MD added "psychiatric (+) anxiety" in his chart for wanting to take this change seriously.

A new warning study that deserves attention. SARS-CoV-2 leaves a long-term endothelial and metabolic footprint in the blood months after infection - even in people without obvious Long COVID symptoms. And that matters🧵

@michael_hoerger As an adult Covid decimated my reading ability. It's not returned to how it was. Can't imagine the impact on kids who are just learning.
