But you seem to forget there are so many versions of Peter and not all of them are stoic. The version that sold his marriage and unborn baby to Satan in exchange for aunt May’s life to be returned? Not only is that a bitch move to do, he sold his future kid and his marriage…he also deeply regretted the decision directly after. Then to add salt to the wound Aunt May made it known she didn’t want that. So yes Peter in the comics can be a bitch. The reason why Spidey is so loved is because he goes through all the phases everyone does. From our lowest to our highest. Everyone has a bitch point in their life, to refute that is insane. Miles Morales. You said his comics don’t sell well? That’s an insane reach. Miles sells better than most characters made after 2010s (when he was made) if not all of them. Miles is so popular with younger generations he has tons of merch and kid shows ranging from toddlers to young adults. Miles is mainly marketed to Gen Z and alpha not the older folk. Then let’s speak Spiderverse….can you really sit here and claim Miles is not a beloved character that sells extremely well? Miles was made as a way to spice up the Ultimate universe Spiderman sales which were tanking horribly at the time due to how the wrote Spiderman. Comics did so well that he became a main universe character & is Spider-Man’s sidekick. Want to know how he’s selling well and marketed to kids? Look up his hero name as Spin. He does way too many numbers to say that. Finally the story. There were flaws with the story I personally did not like the vemon plot but I was genuinely impressed with how it was implemented. As for Spider-Man’s vacation retirement. This version lost his only moral compass. Aunt May. In Comics, Spidey has avengers, X-men, F4, ect, for whe he needs guidance or advice. Here? After all his tragedies? He’s utterly alone and everyone looks to him. No one can assist him, no one can help him, no one can guide him. This Peter is genuinely broken in mind body and spirit, just like we’ve seen in some comics before. It’s just that the game ended with him broken instead of picking up the pieces like a comic series would before it ends.

No no, Superman is a shit character in general in 80% of his iterations. James Gunn’s version was weak, I remember them having a reason for making him a weaker version but it doesn’t really matter imo. To answer all your points in one message: 1) since this is a trilogy, it’s obvious that Peter will return to glory in the end. The movie ended with him in a struggle arc. 2) the 3rd game focusing on Miles is related to two things: popularity/profits & story wise Peter is 25 at the end of the game. He said he wants a family several times in the game and this is extremely true to his character. He wants to sit back and only dive in if he has too. We saw the literal struggle of Peter trying to work a job and be spiderman while being with MJ. He failed all three together as he usually does. You say he retired pathetically which is insane when he just lost his best friend, his aunt literally died 2 years before, he had his mind torn apart by a symbiote, & this version of Peter is a host to a parasite. What more pain do you want him to have? 3) spider no more story is based on Peter not being able to juggle everything in life whilst being spiderman. You even commented on this game being a rushed version of that. Granted, Sony rushed the dev team so there was a lot of cut content, then the insomniac hack happened so they cancelled all DLC as a result of the hack. So any real development that could’ve happened that was planned was actually cancelled due to real life events. Essentially it’s a good game, it’s true to his character, and it’s literally just the 2nd chapter of his happily ever after you clearly don’t want him to have
