The Portland Trail Blazers are unlikely to hire Tiago Splitter as their full-time head coach, per @JakeLFischer “While interim coach Tiago Splitter remains under consideration after going 42-39 and steering the Blazers to their first playoff berth in five years, sources with knowledge of the situation continue to say it's unlikely that the Brazilian lands the job in a full-time capacity.” (Via substack.com/redirect/2/eyJ…)

Absolutely unacceptable in my opinion. Don’t know what other reason the Blazers could have for not hiring him other than the reports that they want to go super cheap.

Deandre Ayton says he felt like he “disappeared” in Portland before joining the Lakers: “This is where people make their names, and this is where people get to see you play for real… It’s a big stage, and I’m truly happy to be back.” (via @DanWoikeSports, h/t @TheNBABase)

This snippet from the end of Cronin’s press conference has me really thinking about what sort of deal he (supposedly) was close to taking but passed up on The clues are: - Would’ve sent Portland into Tax, close to first apron (~$7-8mil) - Would have saved other team “a bunch” of money - Portland would have received a “nice young asset” - Dundon would’ve had to write a check for $20 million (lines up with first clue, $7mil over tax is roughly $20mil penalty) Any guesses on what he may be talking about?

Draymond Green has a 71% chance of returning to the Warriors next season, via Kalshi. If he doesn’t return, which team should sign him?
