Another target achieved

The Cubs had a great night walk around beautiful Butterdean Wood last night. Spotting different trees and their fruits, lots of fungi, seeing bats and finding sculptures, shelters and geocaches. Good fun! @WoodlandTrust @ELCrangers

Huge congratulations to our new House Captains. There were so many great speeches today. Well done to everyone who took part, we are so proud of you all. Looking forward to a new year of HC events and activities. Celebrating Article 15! 🎉

Some more navigation activities last night exploring 8 compass points and four figure coordinates using battleships game.

The Cubs started back tonight with a two-minute weeding session around the hall followed by a navigation activity to try and locate 'Where's Wally' characters and objects on a simple local map.

Sorry, the content of tonight's meeting is top secret... and we finished off with a 0-0 game of bombardment.

We had an expedition food taste test at Cubs tonight with the #wayfayrer Veg Curry coming out on top, just pipping their Chilli and Rice. The Cubs preferred these to the rehydrated dried options. Great work by Lewis II our adjudicator. Followed by a big game of owl.

Not matter what, the Cubs at @LongniddryScout learnt: Problem solving ✔️ Practiced perseverance ✔️ Flexed their design thinking ✔️ Were wild, wacky and outrageous ✔️✔️✔️ All #skillsforlife THEN the weather☀️ improved for lots of outdoor fun. Win. Win. Thank you to the leaders!👍

The Cubs showed some good teamwork and inventiveness building Rube Goldberg chain reaction contraptions until a break in the heavy rain meant we could get out and do our quiz/treasure hunt. Some great cooperation and effort in limited time.
