@StephenSmithOBX @TylerMcGrath81 @406Bitcoin @rajatsoni @PeterSchiff Do you dabble in other assets or do you just own gold and silver?
English

@StephenSmithOBX @TylerMcGrath81 @406Bitcoin @rajatsoni @PeterSchiff I am very grateful for sure that a bunch of hard heads have stayed away.
You did touch on a lot of points there so I'll just try to keep it to the most relevant basics.
The whole world waking up tomorrow... The same is true for gold.
English

It's 2054
Bitcoin has failed
The gold bugs like @PeterSchiff have convinced everyone that peer-to-peer exchanges of gold are the way to go
The world is now on a gold standard
You run a coffee shop
A customer walks in to buy a coffee but all they have is a 1 KG bar of gold
They take out their chisel and scale and carve off 0.054 grams of gold
You take the gold and send it to your gold purity specialist to confirm that the gold is pure
3-5 business days later, the test confirms that the gold is real
You call the customer back to your shop to get their coffee to complete the transaction
English

@TylerMcGrath81 @StephenSmithOBX @406Bitcoin @rajatsoni @PeterSchiff Personally, I have no use for a shiney bit of metal that is inconvenient to store and trade.
I DO have use for a commodity that is easily stored, can instantly teleport around the world, is easily divisible and can be securely transported with me without consfiscation
English

@TylerMcGrath81 @StephenSmithOBX @406Bitcoin @rajatsoni @PeterSchiff Please send me a pile of bitcoins if you can get them for nothing because currently they're going for eighty thousand united states dollars each on open markets.
Do you think if bitcoin could be "debunked" a single coin would trade for $80k USD?
English

@StephenSmithOBX @406Bitcoin @rajatsoni @TylerMcGrath81 @PeterSchiff The keys are just 12 or 24 words that you need to have recorded somewhere.
There is no reason to put them into your ledger. Many people will write them on paper, stamp them into metal, memorize them.
You can have your twelve words and no wallets at all. No safe to steal even.
English

@Longwaterss @406Bitcoin @rajatsoni @TylerMcGrath81 @PeterSchiff Can you send bitcoin to a store or another person if you lose the keys on your cold wallet?
English

@StephenSmithOBX @406Bitcoin @rajatsoni @TylerMcGrath81 @PeterSchiff Again - not trying to patronize.
My reaction to...
Stealing my safe: shit all my money is gone.
Stealing my ledger: dang that's a mild inconvenience.
English

@Longwaterss @406Bitcoin @rajatsoni @TylerMcGrath81 @PeterSchiff I'm sure it's really easy to lose a heavy safe filled with gold, and I'm sure it's really hard to lose an RFID card or a USB-C drive.

English

@StephenSmithOBX @406Bitcoin @rajatsoni @TylerMcGrath81 @PeterSchiff In this example, the safe has been stolen by theives or your government.
A wallet can be recovered remotely when stolen, unlike a safe.
Eg) you steal my safe. Whether you are unable to open it or not, my gold is gone.
You steal my ledger. I retrieve my btc with my keys.
English

@StephenSmithOBX @406Bitcoin @rajatsoni @TylerMcGrath81 @PeterSchiff Dude its totally okay if you don't know what you're talking about. Im not trying to patronize you.
The network runs on physical mining machines. There is no way around this.
Hardware wallets you're talking about are simple access points. None of them actually hold btc.
English

@406Bitcoin @Longwaterss @rajatsoni @TylerMcGrath81 @PeterSchiff If you put bitcoin on a cold wallet what's it being stored on? Hardware?
Someone can physically take your hardware wallet. Governments HAVE taken hardware wallets from suspects and they HAVE seized crypto.
Counterparty risk.
English

@StephenSmithOBX @406Bitcoin @rajatsoni @TylerMcGrath81 @PeterSchiff "The internet relies on real hardware to function."
So does bitcoin.
English

@406Bitcoin @Longwaterss @rajatsoni @TylerMcGrath81 @PeterSchiff Sure they can. They arrest you under charges of money laundering or something and confiscate all your hardware storage. Now you lost it. How are you going to get it back if it's cold storage but someone else physically has it?
The internet relies on real hardware to function.
English

@StephenSmithOBX @406Bitcoin @rajatsoni @TylerMcGrath81 @PeterSchiff A gold-backed crypto would need a person to stand in a room interpreting and modifying millions of accounts. That person would have to be trusted which is unacceptable. That's the point of the blockchain. Nobody runs it. No counterparty risk.
English

@406Bitcoin @rajatsoni @TylerMcGrath81 @PeterSchiff And Bitcoin could crash to $0.10 tomorrow.
There's got to be an element of trust when you use any kind of non-physical money substitute.
Difference is a gold-backed crypto is backed by something physical and real.
Bitcoin is inherently nothing.
English

@OKXHelpDesk I guess I mean something along the lines of having withdrawals set up so that any funds coming into the wallet can be forwarded somewhere else without my interaction
English

@Longwaterss Hello! Could you specify what you mean by automatic withdrawals? Do elaborate more on your inquiry for us to assist you better on this. Thank you!
English

@OKXHelpDesk hey helpdesk!
I am wondering how to set up my okx wallet for automatic withdrawls.
Can you point me in the right direction? Looking for info on reddit and discord currently
English

@BritishHodl Its even crazier that we get to see it coming this time.
Nobody knew what the internet would do.
We know what Bitcoin will do.
English

@benjaminhodlin One only learns about all of these things if they take an interest.
You can hear about any one of them individually and think 'probably nothing'
English

I must be weird, autistic or obsessive concerning Bitcoin. None of my friends, family, or coworkers are talking about the nation state FOMO that’s about to happen, TradFi adoption, face melting Bitcoin ETFs, corporations buying bitcoin, a new US president about to pass bitcoin legislation on day one of his second term.
Must be something wrong with me…
English

@Stradivari78 @InternetH0F In my area cheaters take the back seat and get zero
English

@InternetH0F Isn’t the answer simply “yes”? Assets are split but monthly support is tied to child support
English

@CryptTech_1 @dotkrueger There were a couple of Charles' media outputs in the last couple years where it ended with me thinking..
Wow this guy has become delusional
English

@dotkrueger A couple years ago I used to be a big supporter of ADA.
Not now. I don’t believe it’s going anywhere.
I’m strictly Bitcoin.
