This is a paid, full-time internship and requires on-site work based out of Crosslake, MN. Starts dates are flexible and may begin as early as May 15, 2023. Funding for this internship provided through Sourcewell. Please direct any questions to info@nationallooncenter.org

This internship involves assisting with planning and delivering outreach programs, leading excursions aboard the StewardShip, engaging visitors to The Nest, creating educational content, working on community science efforts, and more.

Getting ready for ice fishing season? Consider checking your tacklebox for lead tackle and participating in our Lead Tackle Buyback Program! This month is a double voucher month—when you turn in 1 ounce or more of lead tackle.

Sporting activities shouldn't come at the cost of the environment in which they are enjoyed. We can fish (and hunt) responsibly to preserve both our outdoor recreation and wildlife for years to come.

And finally, loons that breed in the western parts of the United States and Canada migrate to the Pacific Coast.

Satellite telemetry studies by @Adkloon found that loons that breed in the Adirondacks migrated to the Atlantic Coast as far south as North Carolina and Florida.
