The amount of people trying to defend exclusives not selling a console is insane. It was never the most important aspect of a hardware platform holder, but it’s definitely up there. Most of these people be change their opinion everytime Xbox tweets. Im allowed my opinion lol

@LordAddictILP @IdleSloth84_ @IronLordPodcast So it seems like exclusives aren’t enough to sell hardware. And it seems like only one company is thinking through a future without dedicated hardware which we are pretty close to achieving.

Remember, #GDC is a developer event, specifically the Game DEVELOPER conference. It’s not a consumer show, so it’s generally not the appropriate time or place for mainstream consumer news to be announced. Therefore, it’s important to temper your expectations accordingly and avoid getting overly excited only to be disappointed by your own preconceived notions. @nevrnewd @IdleSloth84_ @IronLordPodcast It struggled because the marketing was confusing, many people thought it was a Wii accessory, 3rd party support dried up early, and Nintendo moved on from it quickly. Nintendo failed a lot on that generation

@nevrnewd @IdleSloth84_ @IronLordPodcast The portable aspect of the Switch was never the thing in question. I even said it’s one of the most important aspects of the system. But what actually sells the hardware is the exclusives. Steam Deck and ROG Ally are portable too, yet they haven’t close to the switch.

Just got around to listening. Two questions for @LordAddictILP. 1)If exclusives are so important, why didn’t the Wii U sell? It had fantastic exclusives. 2) You said the Switch has no features. Isn’t being a dock-able handheld, with ease of use, a feature itself? That’s why it sold.
