Several senior police officers, including Generals, have been arrested in Pretoria on corruption related charges.
It is linked to the Medicare Tshwane District contract.
Sources say the arrested cops were part of the bid committee.
We also believe that a former senior employee of Vusi “Cat” Matlala is behind bars.
They are being detained at a police station in the capital.
All those arrested will appear in court tomorrow.

Mkhwanazi doesn’t have top security clearance, is crucial that any claim he makes, no matter how confident, must be verified against facts and proper channels.
We respect the office, not the hype. His words are important, but they’re not automatically law. Verification and accountability remain non negotiable.

Being a whistleblower and a top cop does not make one immune to error, irresponsible behaviour and critique.
The EFF has always had this kind of relationship with Lt General Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi and all functionaries of the state. That is what Mkhwanazi is, a functionary of the state who has chosen to speak out.
A functionary of the state, a state which has been run through the political outcomes of the ANC, is not infallible.
Ronnie Kasrils, Mbazima Shilowa and many ANC stalwarts, including Mkhwanazi himself have stated the reality that intelligence and law enforcement has been compromised by the process and outcomes of ANC conferences. What would make Mkhwanazi immune to this political reality?
What is wrong about pointing that out?
No one in this country must have a blank cheque and South Africans must never be blackmailed into silence by people who think law enforcement is like supporting Kaizer Chiefs through thick and thin.
This is law enforcement of a country, and a functionary of that is making sweeping unsubstantiated statements about politicians when he does not like what they have to say about him, selectively.
Never must we descend public discourse and our democracy into a fan club.
