Amazing to see that within my lifetime Cymraeg (Welsh language) has gone from being on the route to extinction in the 1960s, to being the language of Senedd cabinet meetings. That’s good news, but still work to do. Well done to all who’ve made it possible. #ymlaen

Every minister in the new Plaid Cymru Cabinet is a fluent Cymraeg speaker. For the first time in 622 years, since the parliament of Owain Glyndŵr, our government will hold its Cabinet meetings in Cymraeg, the mother-tongue of our nation, and indigenous language of Britain 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

What’s done enormous harm to the people of the Rhondda and to Wales is centuries of Westminster misrule from all parties. Our communities created huge wealth, but most of that wealth left Wales. Today, a third of our children live in poverty. But people in Wales are growing in confidence. We know we can build a fairer future by running our own affairs, and that terrifies the Westminster establishment. #Annibyniaeth 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 #indyWales

Isabel Oakeshott on Nigel Farage buying a £1.4m house: “I honestly don’t see why it’s anyone’s business. Why should people know how he paid?” Isabel Oakeshott on Angela Rayner buying a 2nd home: “I smell a massive rat. How on earth has she raised the money to buy a £800k flat?”

@ChazzerEvans I quite like witnessing the fantasy, Welsh politicians have been sucking on the tit of subsidies while dismantling the economy of things wales was actually good at, it’s laughable The actual people (not mental MSs) of Wales really deserve a lot better than anything on offer

Cannot understand why Plaid wants to rejoin the EU? To join the EU, a country has to meet strict financial criteria known as the Copenhagen criteria, which includes having a stable economy and a manageable deficit so that's us knackered already!🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

Only 17.8% of Wales speaks Welsh. 82% of the nation doesn’t. Plaid won a good chunk of support from non-Welsh speakers desperate for change on NHS, housing, and economy. This will only alienate them. This is exclusionary.

@rich_corless @PlaidExposed Da iawn i merch chi! And yes, the ysgol Cymraeg in Tenby is mainly filled with children whose parents don’t siarad Cymraeg. Perhaps every school should be dim ond Cymraeg like in Gwynedd? #ymlaen!

Around 30% of the population of Cymru was born elsewhere, 22% were born in England. Latest figures show that there are around 800,000 Cymraeg speakers, which is 40% of the population born in Cymru. Tra môr yn fur i'r bur hoff bau, O bydded i'r hen iaith barhau! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

@RhonddaBryant 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 is a country. Independence is the logical outcome for 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 as a country. For it too have the ability to govern itself & it's politicians to make the decisions not politicians in the country next door. Independence will happen. It's just a matter of time.

@JeremyBrookman2 No. I worry that Plaid will be obsessed with all the wrong things and will push for independence which would do enormous harm to my constituents. That’s all

@buckney_tony @Bwlch1 @PlaidExposed No, nothing to do with Laeth/llefrith. I recently spoke to an older man (~80’s) born + bred in Angle + still lives there; who spoke about ‘the Welsh’, referencing those from above the Landsker line. It took me back to 1975 when the divide was so much stronger! Dale is lovely!

@LouMiddleton10b @Bwlch1 @PlaidExposed I must admit I had to use Google on the Landsker line (my ignorance is boundless). I did wonder if it was going to align with the Llaeth / llefrith divide. As you know, it’s not even close. Daeth fy nheulu o Dale yn wreiddiol felly dylwn i fod wedi gwybod hynny

Just a reminder that the claims of butthurt anti-Welsh on here are hopium rather than truth. Raw figures do not factor in that almost 30% of the country aren't Welsh. so as a % of WELSH people the fluency rate is much higher.

It's really good to see all this hatred directed at the Welsh, their language and their history, because they've now passed the stage where the English are laughing at them, they're now fighting them, and the Welsh are winning. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🇮🇪
