First time this has happened in @vicpremcricket. When the Saints won four in a row in the 2000s they won only one club championship. Five of the seven other back-to-back sets of flags since the club championship was introduced won both in one season and not the other, CV says.

Not the ideal time to mention this given SA’s historic triumph but only 1 SA player, Carey, was born in SA. Jake Lehmann was born in Melbourne when Dad Darren was playing for Vic… Carey, Lehmann and Liam Scott the only locals, but Scott born in NSW… cricket.com.au/news/4478535
