@larkingrumple In Ireland, reviews of classical concerts & operas are not regularly featured in mainstream press any longer (except for @irishexaminer) Mostly preview features + photos instead.

If you've been given a press ticket to review a concert, you really should – unless there are compelling medical/family emergency reasons – stay until the end. At a recent concert, a critic left *before* the symphony (the highlight of the programme).

This risks getting overshadowed: alongside the 100% cut to @BrittenSinfonia, @PsapphaEnsemble isn’t funded, @Ldn_Sinfonietta loses 41% and @soundandmusic 30%, all impacting composers/commissions, not easy to fund. Good new support too but it will take time to trickle down. #NPO

@ianpacemain @PriceLaurence @DariusBat That is probably true, but look at what has happened fairly recently: St Margaret's, Westm (choir disbanded); St Anne's Cathedral, Belfast (similar outcome, Aug. 2022). And there are certainly other examples, since March 2020.
