We lost a giant to Storm Isha! ☔️ Planted in 1935, this bold and beautiful single x Cuprocyparis leylandii Leyland Cypress reached 33 metres and was still growing before it succumbed to relentless winds on 22 January🌲 We love these trees, despite their notorious reputation!💚

Researchers @imperialcollege have placed bricks and tiles to study algae growth in the Forest of Dean to understand the impact #beavers are having. Nobody told the beavers though, who moved the experiment onto the dam, leaving the scientists a little confused... 😂
