@esaumccaulley Congrats, Mandy. My father (who passed when I was 16) and my step father were both Naval Admirals. I have so much respect for what it has taken you to get here. I suspect this may not be your last step!

@wdavidotaylor I wondered about The Perks of Being a Wall Flower. Great stuff on the body and emotions, but rated PG - 13. Adult themes for sure (suicide, abuse...).

I'm doing a Film & Theology public talk at the Alamo Drafthouse this summer (in Austin). I was hoping to do it on "Inside Out" in order to talk about art, bodies and emotions, but Disney won't permit it. What's another fun movie that could serve as equivalent plan B for this?

@KatelynBeaty With enough time to round them up, I'd love to facilitate a time for you to meet and interact with the pastors in the ANCA here in Austin. Just let me know.

@wdavidotaylor @nytimes NPR did an interview with him about his book that I heard this morning. It was almost exclusively about his faith. So well done in my opinion.

A long-ass interview with Bono at the @nytimes about his new memoir and not a lick of interest in his faith, which, God help us, is one of the most interesting, sizable, and rare aspects of his life. But call me curious about his “Songs of Ascent."🤔 nytimes.com/interactive/20…

Thank you @JackieBradleyJr! You've been so fun to watch, and you have been my favorite player for a long, long time. You play and live with such class. Wish you and your family all the best. I will miss you as I follow the Sox.

Could really use your help with a curriculum question! This fall we are going to study the Biblical idea of community in a midweek forum, and are looking for 11 standalone reading from a diverse array of thinkers and practitioners. You have any suggestions for me? :)

@ahc My daily question: How do I scale spiritual formation in the way of Jesus, and not make it a commodity? The press is with our partners (churches & mission institutions) who are under great stress to produce in the face of those content to consume the goods of the Kingdom.

I've been playing with the idea that one major axis of redemptive work is rescuing all parts of the economy from “commodity” status — even when one manufactures or trades in products that have spent some part of their life cycle (or the value-creation cycle) as a commodity.

@ahc @Tish_H_Warren I so appreciate the approach of one of my Anglican friends who turns off the streaming of the service at the Eucharist. It encourages people to come live for the embodied experience, but allows for those with need to connect to their church virtually. Home visits then offered.

Suffering people often need others to have faith and hope for them.  Admonitions to hope or trust only often result in despair; if the sufferers were able, they would do so.  It is often helpful to say, “I know you struggle to hope right now. I will hope for you.”

@Tish_H_Warren You would feel sad and neglected with no editorial input.
