High Turnover of Leadership, Bane of NDDC – Ogbuku The Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, Dr Samuel Ogbuku, has attributed the high number of uncompleted projects of the Commission to previous leadership instability. Speaking during an interview on Channels TV’s Sunrise Daily programme, Ogbuku said that one of the challenges of the NDDC in the past 25 years was the high turnover of leadership, noting, “In the past 25 years, NDDC has had 16 Managing Directors and Chief Executive Officers, which caused instability in the system.” The NDDC boss noted that the Commission was determined to make the Renewed Hope Agenda of the Federal Government a reality in the Niger Delta region. He restated the Board and Management's commitment to the mandate given to the Commission by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to change the narrative in the Niger Delta region. Yesterday, I made a post about hiring interns for my businesses, and it went viral. I honestly didn’t see it coming. I wasn’t expecting that kind of response at all. It should make me very happy, right? But the truth is, I’m not entirely happy. Because that post opened my eyes even more to how tough the job market really is. Too many people are struggling. Too many people are looking for opportunities. People want to work, they want to learn, they want to grow, but very few are willing to give them a chance. And that’s the real problem. Listen, guys. I’ll do everything I can to help. I’m already reaching out to more founders and business owners to get involved, but please, I beg you in God’s name, don’t embarrass me. If you get selected, show up. Be serious. Be professional. Do your work. Yesterday alone, my team and I were literally running from one app to another trying to keep up with all the notifications from founders reaching out, jobseekers applying, and messages flying everywhere. It was chaotic, but in a good way. Right now, I have 5 founders who’ve agreed to take interns. Each of them wants 4 people. That’s 20 from their side and when you add mine, that’s 24 interns in total for this first round. I’ve already shared my conditions with them: - Fair treatment. - No exploitation. - Monthly data allowance. - 20 hrs work per week. And they’ve all agreed. But I’m not stopping there. I need more founders on board. Wherever you are, whether in Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, the UK, USA, Canada, South Africa, or Australia, if you run a business and can take an intern, please reach out. I have talented people ready to work, learn, and deliver. The goal is to start with 50 interns, then another 50 towards the end of Q1 2026. If all goes well, we’ll make this a quarterly initiative. So if you’re a jobseeker reading this, get your portfolio ready. Like I said yesterday, your resume isn’t the key here. What matters is your portfolio, proof of what you can do, and a cover letter that explains clearly why you’re the right fit. If you’ve been waiting for a chance to prove yourself, this is it. And one more thing. Every intern accepted will be treated with respect. No one will be exploited or treated unfairly. In return, all I ask is that you don’t embarrass me. Please. 😩🙏 Be professional.
