At the turn of the 20th century this was one of many firms in the Potteries using the theme of bees on its backstamp. It has a Mason's Ironstone feel and that Imari design, called Rosette here. Indeed, it was produced not too far from Charles Mason's factory. But who made this?

There are those in the local economic development community that think politics is the only way to solve our problems and there are others who think that business is the fix. What if the community turned itself into a business and fixed its own problems? #communitywealthbuilding

There are lots of reasons why people become homeless. Thank you to @Sotlive for sharing the stories of four of our residents.

Proudly listened to my dad announce his planned retirement from @BBCRadioStoke at the end of this football season. 54 years - mainly commentating on #StokeCity. He’s never had a contract. Not bad for a (now retired) teacher doing a bit of weekend freelancing.

Another ceramic conundrum. The maker of this beautiful hand painted bud vase was prolific in the south of the city during the turn of the 19th century.

It looks like a still from the #WickerMan but it was taken on the 14th April 1924, during a break from the rain at the inauguration of Fenton Park. In opening the park, with a gold key, Mayor Frank Collis said "It looks like someone has made the desert smile." @SoTCityCouncil

On 12th June 1949 the first completed Lidice house was opened up to the public. By Christmas the first of the surviving women were handed over the keys to their new homes. 2 years later 50 homes were inhabited & another 25 were near completion. Find out more in #ThePathtoLidice
