If you are wondering how much we can trust geophysical inversion then check out my third PhD chapter, published in GJI, on validating geophysical inversion models with density and susceptibility measurements on rock samples from northern Victoria Land doi.org/10.1093/gji/gg…

🚨Fresh from the press 🚨 My second PhD chapter was published yesterday doi.org/10.1029/2023JB… We investigated the crustal properties and subglacial geology in Wilkes Subglacial Basin and northern Victoria Land, East Antarctica by using joint inversion of gravity and magnetic

This paper is a follow up story of my second PhD paper, which just last week got accepted in JGR Solid Earth and will be published shortly. So, what the space. Huge thanks to my co-authors and @EoCdt @BAS_News @GeosciencesEd

We also show in this paper the power and limitation of regional and local inversion to reveal subglacial geology by comparing those inversion models to the rock property catalogue.

Excited to see the first paper of my PhD published today! (does this make me a real scientist now? 🥹) We used ICESat-2 to measure up to 15 km (!) tidal grounding line migration on the Ronne Ice Shelf, and found 4 different modes of migration! Check it out here 👇🏼👇🏼

My paper about supergiant #Antarctic #iceberg A68 and its impact on the surface ocean is out today! 🧊 The iceberg’s meltwater plume stretched >1,000 km across the South Atlantic and persisted for >2 months 😮 👇🏼👇🏼👇🏼 bas.ac.uk/media-post/sup…

Imagine: You’re a small sea creature in the Southern Ocean 🦑 Thanks to the survival of your ancestors, you’re adapted to survive with this specific temperature, acidity and saltiness. But what happens when the A-68a supergiant iceberg melts right above you?👇 1/3

@scar_instant After inspiring days at @scar_instant, it's time to catch my first train back to the #UK. 🚅 I have become a big advocate for travelling #Europe using #interrail & will try the sleeper train connection from Venice to Stuttgart for the first time tomorrow. Exciting! 😎

The final day of @scar_instant is dedicated to refining #sealevelrise projections & how to communicate the associated risks to #policymakers & practitioners. 📣 E.g. turning global into regional scenarios is fundamental for taking the appropriate mitigation & adaptation measures.
