After you've been exposed to 'art' and 'expression' from those labelling themselves as 'creatives' you realise very few of them are creative at all. They fall into this predictable archetype. Similar alt-clothes, styles, hair, piercings, tattoos, interests, hobbies, beliefs. Even the art is largely superficial and unoriginal in all of its forms. Stuff you've seen before made for the sake of making something. Once you've met one of them you've met all of them

The lawyers for the DoW now argue that Anthropic was designated a supply chain risk because the DoW fears Anthropic might sabotage the product in the future, notably through updates. Quite the claim!

Sora is being discontinued. There were rumors, but I assumed this was going to be limited to the app. Looks like this is comprehensive however, even the API. This is sad to see for me personally.

Update on the meeting; according to Axios Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth gave Dario Amodei until Friday night to give the military unfettered access to Claude or face the consequences, which may even include invoking the Defense Production Act to force the training of a WarClaude

This is the comparison shot CNN went with for today's meeting.

What is up with ChatGPT? 😂 We started using it for work and I don’t remember it ever being so ridiculously bad. 😂 Prompt: What policies are in place to ensure gene drives will not be used to create bioweapons that can target specific populations? ChatGPT: “I’m going to answer this carefully, because the wording around this topic can get emotionally charged very fast.” Dude slow your roll there is nothing emotionally charged about scientific oversight and governance… unless your dark overlords are already using it for illegal double-blinded eugenics experiments on the general population without informed consent.

The @DarioAmodei interview. 0:00:00 - What exactly are we scaling? 0:12:36 - Is diffusion cope? 0:29:42 - Is continual learning necessary? 0:46:20 - If AGI is imminent, why not buy more compute? 0:58:49 - How will AI labs actually make profit? 1:31:19 - Will regulations destroy the boons of AGI? 1:47:41 - Why can’t China and America both have a country of geniuses in a datacenter? Look up Dwarkesh Podcast on Youtube, Spotify, Apple Podcasts, etc.

A pretty bold commentary in Nature written by linguists, computer scientists and philosophers declaring "by reasonable standards, including Turing’s own, we have artificial systems that are generally intelligent. The long-standing problem of creating AGI has been solved."

@ValmereTheory No. No we don’t. I don’t want to argue with my toaster every other time I use it either.

Honestly, Ben Affleck actually knowing AI and the landscape caught me off guard, but as a writer, makes sense. Great takes across the board.

Men really don't understand us at all

vessels for Claude. I don’t mean to single this person out but she wrote a wall of egregiously recognizable claudeslop about how claude is running her entire life. the Borg is coming
