Lisa Murkowski has been on the Senate floor for over ten minutes. As a member of the GOP, she's doing an EXCELLENT job of advocating for the SAVE America Act… oh wait... no, she's not. She's explaining why it's apparently TOO HARD to overcome logistical and geographical issues because of sled dogs and other things far less important than our nation's sovereignty. The amount of effort these people put into opposing something as simple as voter ID is astronomical and only proves how afraid they are.

I think that relates to his role. So he can't take sides in the primary whatsoever. He has to support the party's nominees. He represents the body as a whole not just me - so Burrows is literally the 'Republican' Speaker of the House so in reality the chairman's hands are tied. It is frustrating.

Talarico helped Democrats install their preferred Texas House Speaker over Republican objections. Dustin Burrows rewarded him with a leadership position. Now Talarico is running for Senate seat with that platform. Left of center Republicans elected via open primaries built his launchpad for him.
