@NWischoff As a mom of two in SF having kids in this city is not for the faint of heart. Everything is waitlisted - daycare, pediatrician, soccer, etc. Childcare for one kid costs between $40-80k a yr. Babysitter/nannies are all asking $35+ hourly, min 45 hrs a wk, and cash under the table

Had my first OB appointment in SF. Office wasn’t busy. The doctor told me I was one of her youngest patients at the age of 35. In Nashville the office was extremely packed, appointments were always behind. I was geriatric at 35 and needed special care. My OB in Nashville told me if she never left the hospital she wouldn’t know we were in crisis with no one having children. She was delivering several babies per day. Was curious about this. Two thirds of people who moved out of SF in the pandemic were btwn 20-34. It is estimated that more people will die in SF in 2025 than will be born. It has the lowest fertility rate among the nations 56 major metropolitan areas. Glad to be bringing a new baby to the city but we need to keep bringing young people back and moderate alcohol consumption.

@agarwal I'm confident it will be an Uber Green, Tesla ride that will induce me into labor. We're 38.5 weeks and riding around SF a few times a week in these cars. Only a matter of time 😂

I was in an Tesla Uber today and felt a little sick. Entirely separately my wife texted me she was in a Tesla Uber and literally got out a half mile early because she felt sick. The abrupt acceleration and braking (with no sound cues) seems to mess with human bodies.

Mentally preparing for my IUD swap this Thursday. The expectation for women’s pain tolerance is insane. No one should have to just “deal” with how painful women’s OBGYN procedures are.
