Did you know the James Webb Space Telescope isn’t orbiting Earth at all?
The James Webb Space Telescope operates near the Sun–Earth L2 point, about 1.5 million km from Earth. From there, the Sun, Earth, and Moon stay on the same side of the telescope, allowing its giant sunshield to block their heat and light at the same time. That keeps Webb cold and stable enough to detect extremely faint infrared signals from deep space.
Because of this, Webb can peer through clouds of cosmic dust and observe galaxies whose light has traveled for more than 13 billion years. Every image it captures is not just a view across space, but a look back into the early history of the universe.

After nearly 18 years I can stop working on Model S and X. We put so much love into these products, but will continue to pour that into the future products. Thanks to everyone who believed in and supported these cars through the years. We strived for the best and will never stop. Saying goodbye to something great and making room for something even greater!

All the Cybercabs at the Houston Robotaxi hub are now equipped with gold wheel caps and Robotaxi decals on the front plate. There’s been visible progress every single day. My guess is that removing the steering wheel will be the final step before they officially join the Robotaxi fleet. @Robotaxi $TSLA
