Companies need to stop calling themselves "Operating System for XYZ" unless they actually build an operating system, which means that they are probably Microsoft, Apple, or Google.

Here’s one of my favorite photos I’ve ever captured: the moment the international space station transited the lunar terminator, captured in broad daylight using a 14” scope. These shots require precise planning and a bit of luck to pull off, and I still can’t believe it’s real!

I bet it's not legal for @HP to change the firmware on my printer so that it only works with overpriced HP cartridges. I bought it because it worked with off-brand cartridges. How can I join the class action lawsuit?

Jmenoval jsem 75 nových profesorů a profesorek. Zasvětit kariéru vědeckému poznání a výuce dalších generací vyžaduje mnoho úsilí, ze kterého profituje celá společnost. Důležitým úkolem, který nás čeká, je větší propojení univerzitního výzkumu s praxí. To je v soukromém sektoru zásadní pro to, abychom se stali ekonomikou s vysokou přidanou hodnotou. Profesorský titul přitom není jen titulem vědeckým, ale hlavně pedagogickým. Výuka se u nás stále příliš zaměřuje na testování encyklopedických znalostí. Je třeba se zaměřit také na inovativní, kreativní, analytické a kritické myšlení nebo na sociální dovednosti. Tyto kompetence budou v budoucnu čím dál potřebnější a jejich rozvoji by se měl přizpůsobit styl výuky. Vážení profesoři a profesorky, gratuluji a přeji Vám ve Vašich oborech i v úsilí o zvýšení kvality vědy a vzdělávání hodně štěstí.

Darování krve je nejjednodušší způsob, jak někomu zachránit život. Jsem proto moc rád, že se dnes, na Světový den dárců krve, do darování zapojili i naši zaměstnanci. S Evou jsme se dnes také setkali s těmi nejaktivnějšími dárci z celé republiky, kteří získali ocenění Českého červeného kříže. Pro mě je vždy radost se setkat s lidmi, kteří něco dělají pro druhé. Pokud ještě krev nedarujete a můžete, zvažte to prosím, každý dárce nemocnicím pomůže.
