"It is time for Ukraine to end more than a decade of legislative restrictions, and for the Hungarians of Transcarpathia to restore all their cultural, linguistic, administrative and educational rights and become equal and respected citizens of Ukraine again... If these issues can be resolved, we will definitely be able to start a new chapter in Ukrainian-Hungarian bilateral relations," added Magyar.
He noted that he considers the compromises proposed by Ukraine on educational issues in 2025 "promising, but insufficient."

Wrong take. It's perfectly legitimate for Hungary to condition its support for Ukraine with the improving of the legal status / conditions of the Hungarian minority in UA. It's a win-win situation, as both aims are desirable.

This ethnic language-politics circus is absurd. If you live as a minority in a country, you learn that country’s predominant language. That is basic integration, not oppression. Ukraine’s national language is Ukrainian. If someone wants Hungarian to be used in courts, universities and government institutions as if they were in Hungary, then Hungary is the place for that. The same standard exists everywhere. In Austria or Germany, you will not get far in life, education, government, or your profession without German. A national language is not an attack on minorities. It is the foundation of a functioning state.
