@whittledaway @GalHibernia How about @COSullivanTD - with all the footage of dolphins and wildlife on his account, I had presumed that he actually liked marine wildlife!! Where is the evidence that the local fishers weren't happy? I'd be interested to see it.

The State just spent €48 million of our money to upgrade the fishing pier at Castletownbere in West Cork to accommodate supertrawlers up to 100m in length. There is no Irish boat of this length. That money could have gone a long way to making fishing more sustainable, not less.
