“They shot him more than 20 times.”
Shahbaz Bhatti was the only Christian cabinet minister in Pakistan.
He openly defended persecuted Christians and opposed the country’s blasphemy laws, knowing it placed a target on his life.
Before his death he recorded a message:
“I know people want to kill me.
But I want to live for Christ and die for Him.”
In 2011, gunmen ambushed his car in Islamabad.
They shot him more than 20 times and left pamphlets claiming responsibility for killing a Christian who defended the faith.

DETENTION OF MALLAM NASIR EL-RUFAI: ICPC SETS THE RECORD
STRAIGHT ON COURT PROCEEDINGS IN ABUJA, NIGERIA
The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) wishes to clarify the current legal status of the remand in detention of the former Governor of Kaduna State, Mallam Nasir Ahmad El-Rufai. This statement is necessary to correct inaccurate reports by some media outlets suggesting that the Commission was in court on 17th March 2026, seeking a fresh extension of his detention. In a statement by John Okor Odey
Head, Media and Public Communication, ICP,
The Commission appeared in Court for the hearing of Mallam El-Rufai’s
application, dated and filed on 6th March 2026, which seeks to overturn the court order
renewing his remand issued on 5th March 2026.
During the proceedings, counsel to Mr El-Rufai was served with our response to his application. The lawyer subsequently requested an adjournment to respond to the
Commission’s response. Consequently, the Magistrate adjourned the hearing of the
application to 31st March 2026 to allow Mr El-Rufai's team sufficient time to react to our
response.
To keep the public informed, the Commission provides the following timeline of the court
authorised detention. The initial remand order was granted, allowing the Commission to
detain the suspect for 14 days to investigate allegations of money laundering and abuse
of office. Upon the expiration of the initial order, the Commission applied for a 14-day
extension to complete its investigations, which the court acceded to on 5th March, 2026.
Counsel to El-Rufai attempted to set aside the remand order issued on 19th February,
2026, but the application was dismissed on 9th March, 2026.
Mallam El-Rufai remains in the lawful custody of the ICPC under the remand order dated
5th March, 2026. The Commission is strictly following the court mandated timeline,
including the requirement for a progress report. The ICPC conducts its duties with the
highest professionalism and respect for the rule of law. The remand of Mr El-Rufai has
been authorised by a court of law in accordance with the Administration of Criminal
Justice Act (ACJA) 2015.
Furthermore, the ICPC remains firm in upholding its longstanding policy of avoiding media trials. We believe that legal disputes should be settled in the courtroom, not on newspaper pages and social media platforms. The Commission’s leadership remains steadfast and undeterred in confronting any and all challenges in the course of the current investigation.
We urge the public to avoid spreading unverified information and to rely on official updates from the Commission. It concludes.

My heart breaks as I type this, please repost this so we can give awareness and massive support to Daniel.
PS: every information being shared is only shared with permission from his direct family members acting in his interest.
As I visited Ogun State today, a young, promising young man was brought to my attention who is currently battling with the jaws of death. He has been diagnosed of brain tumor, and months ago he started treatment but in the course of treatment, he could no longer afford it due to heavy financial constraints on him and his family members.
The tumor as shown in the MRI result has created a mass effect affecting key parts of his brain, including his eyes, he’s currently unable to see now.
So far, he’s been to both public and private hospitals for treatment. Treatment initially started but due to cost and financial constraints, the family, having raised over 5 million naira for his treatment, could not keep up, and had no other choice than to take him back home.
On examination, I realized that his urethral catheter had been left unchanged for close to one month, as real time evidence of lack of funds to provide care. I immediately had to purchase new catheter with urine bag and replaced it myself in preparation for us trying to get him back to a hospital that can adequately care for him. There are already signs of complications like Urinary Tract Infection based on my clinical review. His nasogastric tube has been replaced too and I also spoke with the Doctor on ground as well who is trying to help in every possible way.
No one should suffer like this.
Right now, based on my own review, our best line of action is to get Daniel back to the hospital system for urgent stabilization, possible placement of a cranial shunt to drain the excess cerebrospinal fluid, and prepare/ optimize him for a brain surgery. A FBC, Urinalysis, Electrolyte, Urea and Creatinine had been ordered today.
We are hoping to raise 15 million naira, but every single naira counts. Here’s how you can help Daniel.
1. Donate to help Daniel get back to the hospital system so he can afford the care he needs (Intensive Neurosurgical care). To track our donations, please make a bank transfer to FCMB 4107700013 Olawale Ogunlana
PS. The status of this account will be shared transparently on a daily basis on this platform.
2. Repost this message to your timeline
3. Say a kind prayer for Daniel in the comment section.
Please, @the_beardedsina @Wizarab10 @maxvayshia @oku_yungx @ogshia @HenshawKate and every of my well meaning colleagues and community members, please help me raise this. Your kindness to Daniel is a gift to yourself being paid forward. Nothing is too small to save him.
Thank you all and God bless you.

Watching this video made me remember the night my ransom was paid, make I gist una small.
That night was the 8th day in captivity, the same day they said the ransom had finally arrived. It was already very late in the night, deep inside the forest, when we suddenly started hearing movements and whispers among the kidnappers.
A few minutes later, some men arrived carrying ₦15 million cash and the other items the kidnappers had demanded.
They spread a mat on the ground and arranged the money on top of it. The bundles of cash were stacked there while they prepared to count it.
All of them were very excited Some started drinking alcohol, smoking, and eating food like they were celebrating something big. You could hear laughter everywhere.
Lowkey, inside my heart, I was happy too.
I kept telling myself quietly,
"This suffering don end… tomorrow I go see outside again."
I was even hoping maybe they would give me something better to drink or eat, since money had already been paid.
But for where…
They ate everything by themselves.
After they finished drinking and eating, they threw the empty cans toward where we were lying down.
Omo… that moment pain me. I just realize say for their eyes we no be human beings at all.
We were weak, hungry, dirty, and exhausted, but nobody cared.
Not long after that, some of their senior men sat down and started counting the money bundle by bundle.
Suddenly, an argument broke out.
At first it was just shouting.
Then it turned into a serious fight.
They began accusing each other about the money. Some of them even carried their guns, shouting and threatening to shoot themselves.
For a moment, it looked like they might kill themselves right there.
At that point, we the abducted people started whispering among ourselves.
In our minds we were already thinking:
"If this fight get worse, maybe this na our chance to run."
Our hearts were beating fast. Nobody spoke loudly, but everyone was watching carefully.
After some time, the older ones among them calmed the situation and settled the argument.
Then they continued counting the money again.
The counting went on for some minutes until they finally finished.
After that, they shouted at us:
"Stand up!"
We quickly stood up from where we had been lying down in chains and sat up quietly.
Then one of them, a man they called Farooq, stepped forward.
He brought out a thick cable used for motorcycles.
Before we could understand what was happening…
He started flogging us one after the other.
The cable was very painful on the body.
Nobody dared to shout too much because we were scared it might make things worse.
After beating us like that, he angrily told us:
"Lie down! (kwanta) Sleep!"
That night, even though ₦15 million had already been paid, i still slept on the bare ground in the forest, hungry, in pain, and not knowing what the next morning would bring.
But deep inside my heart, I kept hoping…
"Maybe tomorrow… I will finally leave this hell."
Omo, I see shege for my life o. 🥹😭
