If you grew up on Western apps, your instinct is immediate: this is cluttered. But it works. In the U.S., we’ve been trained to associate good UX with minimalism. In China, density often signals value. Open WeChat or Alipay, and it feels overwhelming at first. Information-heavy, feature-packed. But to local users, that density means capability. It says: everything you might need is already here in front of you. If you enter a new market assuming your design taste equals good UX, you’ll misread the signal. Good design is contextual.

Coming to mjlab today! This is vanilla RL, no motion imitation/AMP. Natural gaits emerge from minimal rewards: velocity tracking, upright torso, speed-adaptive joint regularization, and contact quality (foot clearance, slip, soft landings). No reference trajectories or gait patterns. Walking, running, and arm swing emerge purely from optimizing these simple objectives. Oh and training time? Just 1 hour.

I have built several apps with Flutter/Dart in the past 5 years. I am trying SwiftUI now and I can say that just following default design principles in SwiftUI creates a much better design & styling. Yes, it is not cross platform but it is indeed a comfort when it comes to design. #SwiftUI

Every time I open up Twitter, I see #Flutter devs complaining. Day after day. I also see a lot of them trying CMP, RN/Expo, and SwiftUI, and go on here to praise them with uninformed optimism. Go ahead, open up a little older RN app, deal with the dependency hell, and debug TS. Go ahead, open a little older SwiftUI app and deal with Swift breaking changes, XCode breaking changes, and not being able to compile the app for the whole day (or multiple days, in fact). Go ahead, use CMP and deal with the growing pains of a maturing system and things just not working. Go ahead, and will be back in no time. Flutter team made some bad decisions, sure, but haven't we all? Isn't that what development means (iteration)? If you are not going to do anything about it, don't complain. Complaints not followed by action are nothing but noise. Just stop. You are labeling yourself as a crybaby. My 2 cents.

@jezell The Flutter team often struggles with prioritization.

The problem was never Skia. The problem was that Flutter didn't lean in and take full advantage of it. React-native-skia being used by tons of top tier apps is evidence of this fact.

@SuprDeclarative @FlutterDev Not even on iOS occasionally got janky on Android in my apps too. People would say you use cross-platform don't for the purpose of native like smooth, well, then what am chasing for? We have plenty of cross-platform options.

Looks like @flutterdev got pretty screwed up on iOS. This is happening on my iPhone 16 and my old iPhone SE.
