What happened to Subnautica 2?
The game peaked at almost 500k players on launch day and lost 70% of its player base within a week.

@ani_meme25 toph just put the stone captule around it but even then id say both water and earth benders could bend it as it still has metal in it, like how water and earth benders can bend mud

The Avatar doesn’t just take your bending away… they cut off your connection to it. Forehead first, then the chest. Like they’re shutting down the mind and spirit before the element itself

Book 1 Korra absolutely destroys Book 3 Aang, and it’s not even close.
People love to talk about Aang’s 'journey,' but they ignore that by the end of Book 3, Aang was a work-in-progress. He was a master of Air and Water, sure, but he spent the series speed-running Earth and Fire just to keep his head above water. Even Toph and Zuko constantly called him out for not having a real grasp on the mechanics of those elements. He was essentially a defensive specialist playing catch-up.
Then you have Book 1 Korra. She is a natural-born prodigy who had Fire, Water, and Earth mastered by 16. By the end of Book 1, she’s not only a powerhouse in those three, but she unlocks the Avatar State and Airbending on command. You are comparing a girl who was literally born to be an offensive weapon to a boy who was still learning the fundamentals of 50% of his toolkit.

@jamieagatharose I think its rather the DOOM philosophy where they make only the fun gamestyle work that they have envisioned for the game, like there you can't really go stand back and snipe things your supose to go right up against them and in subnautica your supose to be scared

Subnautica 2 does not allow players to kill fish or other sea creatures using weapons or tools. Unknown Worlds developers have confirmed no plans to add lethal combat mechanics in future patches. Gameplay design lead Anthony Gallegos explained the game’s philosophy: “The tone of the game we’re making is that you are here to exist on this planet, not to dominate it. You’re not the conquering colonist here. The goal here is not for you to master the world and bend it to your will.” Players can still capture small fish for cooking. Defense relies only on tools like flares to distract predators and the multitool to repel creatures. The studio is improving these non-lethal options in response to feedback but won’t add lethal tools. Developers view this as core to the game’s identity and are not planning a combat-heavy experience.

@romerjamess @Touyarokii I did look up that episod with the general and aang only flys up and the genral pulls katara out again. and the roku thing isn't really aang firebending its more that roku is spiritually projecting him self in to the world I wouldn't personaly count it as avatarstate stuff

@LucilyaUwu @Touyarokii He has. When he talked to Avatar Roku Aang firebend through Roku. When that air head Earth Kingdom general forced the Avatar State he earthbend. Those two instances were both before he ever learned how to do em

@LucilyaUwu @Touyarokii He has. First episode of book 2 he uses earthbending in the avatar state long before he ever learns how to. Specifically after Katara gets pulled into the ground by the earthbendinding general.

If this happened in an area with only rock and no water, Aang would be either air bending or earth bending, he was in the water, hence water is best
