Every morning Trump comes and announces that a ceasefire & peace talks are underway. He does this by way of a press conference, then writes a truth social post, and then a quasi news agency follows up with a source based statement that US and Iran are mediating conditional talks. This is what is known as fog of war. Even a mention of the word 'ceasefire' used to rip equities higher and collapse the prices of oil. A 'weekend only operation' is in its second month, and Trump seems to be losing his marbles by cussing Iran, and calling Biden's America a dead country. The financial markets clearly aren't buying this buffoonery any more The DXY is still dangerously close to crossing 100, the treasuries are only going up, and Oil refuses to bog down. The tension in the capital markets most likely continues, and once the relief rally in equities get over, we most likely see lower levels going forward. Basically, markets get oversold, retrace higher for 2-4 days, and see lower lows. The strait of Hormuz wont be fought on the negotiation table, or by missiles and drones. Only the price of Oil will determine the 'fate' of Hormuz, and whether it becomes a US asset or not. Sustain below $100, and the war comes closer to its end, breakout above the March high of $119, and financial markets panic. While in India, we continue with the narrative of Sab Changa Si, atleast till the election season doesn't get over. With that being said, I continue to believe that under Trump we got the best long trade of 2025 thanks to his tarriffs tantrums, and once again in 2026, his own war of ego will provide us the trade of the year in equities. For now, keep a firm eye on Oil prices, and let's keep a long trade on natural gas. It had a euphoric rally and topped in Feb at $5.8 and has plunged 50% to $2.8 With that being said, I'll be on a small break. Take care and god speed.
