Mon papa est décédé d’une septicémie… Cela a été fulgurant, ma famille et moi n’avons rien vu venir. Il allait encore très bien il y a quelques jours. Dès les premiers symptômes (œil gonflé, grosses douleurs à la jambe), il a consulté médecin, clinique, qui ne s’alertaient pas sur son état, mais lorsqu’il a enfin eu une place à l’hôpital, son corps s’est dégradé en l’espace de quelques heures. L’hôpital nous a appelé pour dire qu’ils ont identifié ce qu’il avait, une septicémie, ils nous indiquent où il est à l’hôpital pour le voir. Mais on ne savait pas encore à quel point cela s’était dégradé, on a attendu de longues heures à l’hôpital avec ma famille. Le personnel soignant en charge de mon père vient enfin nous voir, nous a isolé pour nous dire que la septicémie a progressé trop vite, que son corps est déjà trop nécrosé et qu’ils sont très pessimistes, qu’ils vont tout faire mais qu’il faut s’attendre à ne plus le revoir. Nous avons encore attendu, c’était interminable. Pleins de pensées me venaient en tête. Je réfléchissais encore il y a quelques jours au cadeau d’anniversaire que je comptais lui faire, ma mère me disait qu’il voulait qu’on aille tous ensemble à un nouveau resto qu’il avait découvert. Ses amis avaient prévu une fête d’anniversaire surprise pour lui. Il a toujours été fort, il a déjà survécu d’un cancer, il va réussir à surmonter cette épreuve. Puis la nouvelle est arrivée, il ne pourra pas être sauvé. C’est un choc. Tout est arrivé en seulement trois jours. La dernière fois que je lui avais parlé, la veille, je ne pouvais pas savoir que ce serait la dernière fois. Nous avons pu le voir avant qu’il ne s’éteigne complètement. La seule date disponible pour ses funérailles tombent le jour de son anniversaire le 16 mai, je pense que cette ironie du sort l’aurait amusé… Depuis, mes frères et moi accompagnons ma mère au maximum dans les démarches administratives et en soutien moral au quotidien. Heureusement, mes parents ont beaucoup d’amis et de famille, ma maman est bien entourée et ils nous aident aussi dans cette épreuve. Je prends quelques jours pour nous avant de revenir d’attaque. S’il y a bien une qualité de mon père que j’ai toujours admiré, c’est sa force de caractère et sa capacité à surmonter les moments difficiles. Je dois aussi être forte pour ceux qui restent. Prenez soin de vos proches, soyez toujours là pour eux ❤️
