🚨ICAN has filed a formal petition with HHS Secretary Kennedy, demanding that 300 new vaccine injuries be added to the Vaccine Injury Compensation Program's injury table. The table has not been updated since 2017, which is as an ongoing violation of the National Childhood Vaccine Injury Act of 1986. Federal law requires HHS to maintain the table listing injuries "associated with" covered vaccines so that injured individuals can obtain compensation without having to prove causation. The 300 injuries ICAN is petitioning to add span 13 vaccines, including influenza, MMR, Hepatitis B, DTaP, HPV, and others. Federal health agencies and vaccine manufacturers have long acknowledged these associations, and many of them already appear in vaccine package inserts reviewed by the FDA. Almost none of them are on the table. Separately, ICAN sent a letter to Secretary Kennedy urging him to revise the ACIP charter before its renewal date of April 1, 2026. A recent federal court decision suspended the appointments of 13 ACIP members and invalidated all votes taken by the committee since those members joined. The ICAN letter notes that Kennedy has the authority to revise the charter and set the criteria for new members, and urges him to use that authority to ensure the committee serves the public rather than the interests of pharmaceutical companies.
