When I look at myself, I don't see how I can be saved. But when I look at Christ, I don't see how I can be lost. -Martin Luther

@TheSeanEsposito @TheWatchManOfT1 "Everything created by God is good, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving" If you consider it defiled, then to you it is defiled, but you cannot say that it is defiled in itself, for nothing is in the Lord Jesus.

@TheWatchManOfT1 @TheSeanEsposito Why does Mark conclude with ‘thus He declared all foods clean’? Even if the Pharisees didn’t ask about dietary laws, wouldn’t that summary suggest the implication goes beyond their original question? How do you reconcile that broader conclusion with a strictly handwashing-view?

@TheWatchManOfT1 @TheSeanEsposito I agree the question was about handwashing, that's clear. But if Jesus intended to limit His point to unwashed hands, why would HE expand it in Mark 7 to say that NOTHING entering a person from the outside defiles them? That's broader than bread with dirty hands.

@TheWatchManOfT1 @TheSeanEsposito That's an appeal to authority, you're treating a "credible commentary" as if it settles the issue instead of actually engaging the text itself. You're also sidestepping the discussion (a form of red herring) by shifting the focus from Mark 7 to simply asserting that you're right.

@TheWatchManOfT1 @TheSeanEsposito I'm with you there, but Jesus doesn't limit His answer strictly to the question asked, because He doesn't just say "unwashed hands don't defile", He says NOTHING that enters a person from the outside defiles them, and then Mark concludes "thus He declared all foods clean."

@5Solas2 @easttnhokie The Reformation **reformed** the Catholic church according to Scripture, bringing us closer to the ancient apostolic faith... ...which we all know is found in Historic Premillennial Reformed Baptist theology 😁

The view of James, Joseph, Simon, Judas, and His sisters (Matthew 13:55–56; Mark 6:3; Matthew 12:46–50; Acts 1:14). Additionally, Matthew 1:25 states that Joseph "knew her not until she had given birth to a son," and Luke 2:7 calls Jesus her "firstborn," implying "secondborn".

When it comes to the perpetual virginity of Mary, do you agree with the Catholic view or with the view of Protestant reformers Martin Luther, Ulrich Zwingli, and John Wesley?

@Truth_matters20 I agree with you, up until you mentioned that angels manifest physically. I actually don't see any reason to think they're being of pure spirit at all. I think they're physical, biological creatures, that's what they are

People say that I am wrong and then go on to provide no biblical evidence of demons manifesting physically. Spiritual entities cannot manifest in the physical realm unless God gives them permission. The ONLY angels to manifest physically in the Bible were God's servants and they appeared human.

@DavidFischer No, I don't hold to a medieval Roman cosmology that was ignorant of the Ancient Near Eastern context for the Bible. Demons are the disembodied spirits of giants, and they cannot manifest in a physical body

@brad_polumbo Christ is not honoured by selective outrage. I don't care if a joke is aimed at "our side" or "theirs", does it reflect the character of Christ, full of truth and mercy? NO, it doesn't! "How blessed will be the one who repays you" -Psalm 137

I've ardently defended Erika Kirk from the ostensibly serious podcasters & media stars defaming her and baselessly implicating her in crimes. But my feelings about the comedian Druski's mockery of Erika Kirk are more complex. For years, I, and many others on the Right, defended edgy and wildly offensive comedy, like mocking trans people and even joking about horrible things like domestic violence, the Holocaust, and AIDS. How can anyone on the Right really argue, in that context, that a comedian mocking a widow is somehow beyond the pale... without being totally hypocritical?

@TheWatchManOfT1 @TheSeanEsposito Jesus clearly says "nothing" entering a person defiles them. If He intended to keep the dietary laws in place, it could have said "except for the things already forbidden." Instead, He makes a blanket statement that shifts the whole focus to the heart.

@LukeBaird2016 @TheSeanEsposito Except this text has nothing to do with dietary restrictions, also this is an added law by the Pharisees (ritual washing before eating) that is what he is rebuking, not a wall between jew and gentile here
