Agree with @campbellclaret here. Unfortunately this is a perfect example of speciesm. People have been on bank notes for decades. There are museums and galleries dedicated to them. We've wrecked our natural world beyond repair, the least you can do is put them on a bank note.

Sorry @EdwardJDavey I have stood up for you when @RoryStewartUK has attacked your “silly stunts” as he calls them because I know how hard it can be for smaller parties to get attention. But this is BS on a @Nigel_Farage scale. Nobody alive imagines that Churchill legend will wane because we see his face less on a banknote. And the public demand (inc I imagine many many LibDems) is for our nature and wildlife to be celebrated alongside our great humans. Leave the culture wars to the bullshitters who have nothing else to offer. These are really serious times. Be serious.

@paulmasonnews When will you all learn that just calling someone a joke strengthens their base and often bolsters further support. I like the Green Party, but it's the same mistake everyone makes with Reform too. Stop calling them names, treat them equally, and defeat their ideas with debate.

If you vote for the Green Party, you genuinely hate the United Kingdom and its historic population. There is nothing else I can say. There are no excuses. Polanski is crystal clear on what he stands for. So, if you vote Green, I am going to come down on you like a ton of bricks. You are an enemy of this country, plain and simple.

Fascism? I’m literally begging people to read a single book.
Fascism is a particular ideology and it doesn’t just mean ‘right wing’. It is expressly collectivist, identitarian, militaristic, anti-parliamentarian, and totalitarian.
There is no serious political party with a paramilitary wing playing street politics.
There is no serious political party calling for economic autarky (except maybe the Greens)
There is no serious political party clamping down on speech forums or supporting the cancellation of elections (except maybe the Labour Party)
There is no serious political party with roots in Nazi-adjacent nationalism (except maybe the SNP and Sinn Fein)

I was just in @Waitrose in Victoria, and they were throwing away baked goods, including pretzels.
I asked the man throwing them in the bin if I could buy one for half price.
It would mean it didn't get thrown in the bin, they would get some money, I would get a pretzel. Everyone wins!
Sadly, there was literally no mechanism for me to buy a pretzel at a discount that they were literally throwing in the bin, which seems less than ideal to be quite honest.

@ZiaYusufUK Not a fan of @reformparty_uk at all but I think you need to meet ideas you disagree with head on and debate them in public. Calling people racist but then rejecting the opportunity for a debate won't bring people onboard or change hearts and minds unfortunately.

Bangor University have banned Reform and called us “racist, transphobic and homophobic”.
Bangor receives £30 million in state funding a year, much of which comes from Reform-voting taxpayers.
I am sure they won’t mind losing every penny of that state funding under a Reform government.
After all, they wouldn’t want a racist’s money would they?

I think, with other issues too, this is one of the big causes here for decline in Salmónids also. Lots of roads alongside rivers, and a huge increase in car traffic in the last decade locally.

I took a sample of motorway runoff into the River Wye recently. The pollution level for Benzo(g,h,i)perylene exceeded the legal Standard by 675 times. How can our rivers ever recover when this toxic pollution occurs every time it rains? This chemical is extremely toxic.
