Can Labour do it on a cold, rainy night in Acton? Of course they can. A lovely 4-2 victory over the Conservative aligned AFC Bluebirds to win the inaugural Politico Westminster Cup. It was great to do it in our new kit sponsored by GMB.

Party conference season is finally over. It was great to speak with so many MPs and advisers from across the political spectrum. The highlight of course was playing for the famous Lobby XI football team and beating the Tories 4-1.

If you told me as a kid that one day my work would take me to the US Capitol in Washington, D.C., I’d have thought you were mad. The West Wing nerd in me was always going to enjoy it, but as a city it was also an incredible place.

16 years ago I was lucky enough to see Oasis at the infamous power cut gig at Heaton Park. I’d just finished a GCSE exam and my mum drove me over. This time I took the tube to see Manchester’s finest. Hello, it’s good to be back.

It was great to join a panel to discuss community cohesion at Labour Youth & Student Congress. This is a conversation that may not have happened in the past, but it is important that discussions around cohesion and integration take place, particularly on the left of politics.

Always great to play for the Labour Staffers XI, especially when we are playing vs the MPs’ team. A tight 1-0 win and former Premier League ref Dermot Gallagher keeping everyone well behaved made it a lovely morning in the sunshine.

It was great to take part in a 5-a-side tournament organised by @mylifemysay to help get more young people registered to vote. As my mum said to me and no doubt many mums have said to their kids: ‘if you don’t vote, you can’t moan.’

Always found it odd that a shadow minister could have an advisor who worked with them on a brief for years, then on entering government the new minister cannot take this person with them. Politicians are elected by the public to bring change, and that should include personnel.

What was the social suicide when you were at school?

One in ten kids are being bullied for being poor. Sad but unsurprising. Has it always been this way though? The way my stomach would drop if Mum turned up with my football boots or food tech ingredients in a Lidl, Aldi or god forbid Netto carrier bag. It was social suicide!

Parents cannot be expected to know every post or video their child views online. It also raises the question of the massive vacuum that has been left in the lives of white working class boys in particular. A vacuum that certain chancers/influencers have taken advantage of.

What an incredible show Adolescence is. It really puts a spotlight on one of the fastest growing issues of our time: social media influencing real world violence. How can a young person be sent down such a rabbit hole by social media algorithms.

Match report fails to mention it was a lovely header from a long throw-in that would have made Tony Pulis and Rory Delap proud.

Last night, as I was returning to my flat in London, I was attacked and mugged by a group of individuals. Luckily, I have no injuries and I am ok. One of the best parts of working in Parliament is being able to give tours to students from your own area. Politics can be tough to break into, especially with no prior connections, so it was great to answer questions and offer some words of advice to the next generation.
