base went from not existing to one of the most important chains in the world in two years that happened because of the builders. and as with all fast growth, along the way some left, some pivoted, some gave up. the builders who remain are the ones who define the next era.

Fully understand this, but a community knows when their leaders are working for the betterment of “their future” and not just the betterment of lining leaderships pockets. You have been a light in the midst of extremely dark and uncertain moments for the @base chain and the @Toshi family. Sometimes it’s not procedures but compassion that needs to be inserted, and in the process of doing that you see the people you are building for in a different light, thus changing the approach or the speed at which we make flippent decisions without assessing the potential catastrophic ramifications of those actions. If you don’t have the people you don’t have a business. You know how to bring the people and have built the healthiest funnest meme community in the world here at @Toshi

I can care about something with no financial ramifications, whereas Jesse is an exec at Coinbase, in charge of the base app, and in charge of base, and all of those need to make money for the shareholders. Fully stand with @CocosLair if @base had any kind of common sense they would allow @CocosLair the opportunity to show this network how to become healthy and profitable again for everybody involved. It amazes me that @CocosLair seems to have a greater desire to make the @base network great, than the actual management team as a whole. Let this man takeover a leadership roll and let him show you what it means to conduct ethical business in the crypto world. Proud of you @CocosLair keep killing it @Toshi army stands with you!

Yeah it’s going to take a lot more than your first sentence. You have ignored feedback from basically every builder that’s not living by the grace of (coin)base support or investments, pushed your own thesis, said we were wrong and treated us like employees and children. Let’s be honest about this stuff Most of your team never agreed with your thesis either, current and former colleagues at both base and cb I, and many others, warned you that your choices here were hurting many people financially, so even if your thesis was partially right, the approach was horrible and defeated its purpose. And here every chat is saying they don’t understand how your “oops we were wrong” is you saying “we were too advanced/visionary/ahead of the curve” instead of sorry for hurting your finances, communities, projects. Your team is trying to make amends in chats and actually apologizing dude, partially stating that they were never on board with the push and they hope to get back to normalized relations. There is no sugarcoating things anymore, you personally have made that impossible. My fight is for all of base, and clearly the Toshi community in particular, but backed by almost your entire ecosystem of builders
