@jasehoops checkout his contract, not that they should trade him now but eventually they’ll have to

@HoopFocusX 1) Jake lied and said Presti was offering SGA for 1 in 2021 2) No team is trading outside of the Top 4, this isn’t 2k. Teams tank years for the opportunity to draft a franchise guy, nobodies trading for low value future picks.

Usually this stuff is worth ignoring, but this coming from Fischer who’s been pretty good with draft stuff recently is very interesting
NBACentral@TheDunkCentral

Executives around the league are floating the idea of the Thunder trading up to draft Cameron Boozer or Caleb Wilson, per @JakeLFischer “‘What's to stop them from packaging No. 12, 17 and [even] future picks to try to go get Boozer or Wilson?’ one Eastern Conference executive asked me the other day. Imagine. The Thunder certainly have the trade assets to do so to try to nab another elite forward to throw at Victor Wembanyama. There is an undeniably growing anticipation leaguewide that the Thunder are going to do something.” (Via open.substack.com/pub/marcstein/…)

@jasehoops A contender landing a top pick defeats the purpose of the draft. I hope they lose it to LAC.

@DubClayton Whats the fasincation with being mid? Shortcuting rebuilds always end in sustained mediocrity. The team doesnt even know who theyre franchise player is, theres still so much to uncover about their young core. Bringing in more vets will only stunt the growth of the young guys.

The Wizards made a move to acquire a former champion, 10x All-Star, 5x All-NBA, 5x All-Defense, & 75th Anniversary team honoree (+ Trae Young), but AD still wants to know if the team is serious about winning. This is almost a self-own. Does he not think he’s that guy anymore?
NBACentral@TheDunkCentral

Anthony Davis plans to meet with the Wizards to see if they have a plan to compete for a championship next season or during the 2027–28 season, per @JoshuaBRobbins “Davis reiterated Monday that he wants to have in-depth conversations with Monumental Basketball president Michael Winger and Wizards general manager Will Dawkins over the next few months to learn whether team officials have a concrete plan to compete for a championship either next season or during the 2027-28 season.” (Via nytimes.com/athletic/71946…)

@Nittanylion02 Disgaree, he had a bad season but legitimately could break out in a NBA style offense built around him like Egor did at BYU. They didn’t feature him at all VT.

@LukeWasemiller Yeah but from what I understand that wouldn’t make sense to do, no? They own the swap rights with Chicago and are prob a season away from leaving a rebuild?

@GregFinberg @LuedtkeChandler Will worked under Presti during the Thunder rebuild, Presti waited for the young core to declare themself before adding vets. The last thing u wanna do is pigeon hole young guys into roles early in their career and then u end up capping their potential.

@LuedtkeChandler I disagree. They feel ready to win and Trae/AD help that. Both also make those around them better.

If you needed any more evidence that Trae Young will be back in Washington next season: Here’s him serving as the lone model for the Wizards’ 2026-27 city edition jersey:

@405Fan @caleb_t_jones__ None of them were 24 and Dub was a guard not a wing. Presti clearly is anti wings, his roster is all guards and bigs. Id imagine they target a guard with wing size like Neo Avdalas like they did Egor last year.

I don't know how McCain gets many minutes when Ajay and Shai get back. OKC has so many guards.

@caleb_t_jones__ I would pick Yaxel and Morez Johnson.I think Morez will be there with the Philly pick. Yaxel may be gone in which case I'd prob take Haugh. Both of those guys are big physical, versatile players. Losing 2 guards an adding 2 big wings would round out the roster better.

@alykaramazov @AlexRoig_NBA Im sure Sam cares, which is why i woud predict that they pickup his option and send him to a cap space team for a future swap or whatever.

@LukeWasemiller @AlexRoig_NBA 1. The CBA may be opted of by then. It’s possible they never hit the repeater tax. 2. The 7 year pick is true, but we have so many I am not sure I care.

Here's my take on Lu Dort signing with Klutch Sports: a player like Dort only has a certain amount of opportunities to cash in on his success. First contract: 4 year/$5.4 million in 2020 with several non-guaranteed years Second contract: 5 year/ $87.5 million in 2022 with a team option But this next extension may be his final big pay-day. And he's earned it. From undrafted player to being a key cog on a championship team and recognized as one of the best defenders in the league, Lu has earned the opportunity to try to cash in. He doesn't owe OKC anything. And so, no matter how it goes from this point, I salute Lu and I hope he gets every dollar that he is owed, whether it's in OKC or elsewhere.

@alykaramazov @AlexRoig_NBA Flexibility and avoid repeater penalty. They’ll be locked into the 2nd apron in 27-28 and 28-29. If ur in the 2nd apron for 3 consecutive seasons ur FRP in 7yrs gets frozen, thats why they should duck it in 26-27.

@alykaramazov @AlexRoig_NBA The whole point of acquiring all these draft picks was to replenish the team when role players get expensive (Giddey ➡️ Topic ) (Dort ➡️ Caso ) (IHart ➡️ Sorber ) .

I kind of think Presti might targer Karim Lopez in the draft. He's 6'8 with a 7'1 ws 220 lbs and in the NBL this year per 36 He's at 16.4 ppg 9.5 rpg 2.2 apg 1.5 bpg 1.5 spg shooting 44% 3 on 4.9 att 80% ft and 59% TS. There aren't many 18 yr olds I can remember that have been
