@PaulDevine70 They did try on Sunday with the penalty. If they don't win against Brighton and West Ham win on Monday they are done for.

A year ago kopites were trying to claim this team was one of the greatest of all time & genuinely believed they had the best players in the werrllld in nearly every position. The flat-track bullies got found out!
Terry ▶️@TFinnAgain

Newcastle, PSG & even Plymouth beating Liverpool with ease proves they’ve won the league in one of its poorest ever seasons The bizarre claims this is somehow a great Liverpool team with the best players in the world are just ridiculous They’re flat-track bullies, nothing more.

@DaleJohnsonBBC A new term has to be introduced for non deliberate conduct like the one pictured and should be a 1 game ban.

@henrywinter Comment not meant as bait. Think both Leeds and Sunderland at home have gone at teams which is why in the main they are both staying up.

@henrywinter How many of Leeds and Sunderland starting XIs played last season for them? No one wants to see the promoted teams get relegated all the time.

Leeds United 15th rising away from the danger zone. Sunderland 10th, outstanding. Burnley look doomed. But important for EFL that promoted clubs don’t all tumble back down. Also important reminder to the PL of the quality in the pyramid - and why they need to work closer together

This is an old-school post-fight pod. Put your belt on and come for the ride. Tasha Jonas is brilliant - Tyson Fury in his dressing is raw and open. Moses, Frank Warren and a couple of others. Enjoy your Sunday. bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/p0…

A result that proves Everton should focus on the Europa League or Conference League and see where they land. Don't get ahead of themselves and just keeping picking up points.

Massive summer ahead for Everton (again!). All depends on these last 7 games. Will we qualify for Europe? What would that mean for UEFA's Squad Cost Ratio rules, which we'll fail? How would that affect our spending - players like Grealish? Would we have to sell big players?

CONFIRMED! The Premier League is guaranteed to have at least 5 teams in next season's Champions League after securing one of the two EPS slots. The race for 5th is ON. But it could yet be six teams again. Or even seven! Here's how. 👇 bbc.co.uk/sport/football…

@henrywinter Garner can cover both full back positions. Leave the crocks at home. Although bigger squads 16 can play every game and should. Before you account for injuries. You dont need 6 wingers.

England do have talent. Just didn’t show it in the two friendlies. But they have good players. Tuchel will travel around, checking on players before naming his World Cup squad at the end of May. Here’s the 26 I’d take to the World Cup… Pickford, D Henderson, Trafford; James, Alexander-Arnold, Konsa, Stones, Maguire, Guehi, Livramento, O'Reilly, Hall; Rice, Anderson, Bellingham, Rogers, Wharton; Kane, Watkins, Rashford, Gordon, Saka, Madueke, Eze, Palmer and Bowen.  Caveats: James, Stones and Watkins have to prove form/fitness. Would have had Garner in midfield but O’Reilly can cover there (and Hall a good left-back). Overloaded with attackers for impact from bench, pens after 120/players off and need to get Watkins in.  More significantly, the man whose decisions matter, Tuchel will go with Jordan Henderson, possibly Burn, definitely no Alexander-Arnold or Maguire. Watkins at risk. #ENG

🚨 The media won’t show you this about Chelsea pretax losses: Sources tell BBC Sport that the reported losses also include fines and accounting write-offs tied to high-profile players like Raheem Sterling and Mykhailo Mudryk, who is currently under investigation following a failed drugs test

Chelsea confirm the biggest pre-tax loss in Premier League history. The club's £262m deficit for 2024/25 is over £65m more than Manchester City declared (£194.5m) in 2011. This compares to a profit of £128.4m for Chelsea in 2023/24. In summer 2025, Chelsea had the highest player sales in Premier League history and that came with significant agent fees also contributing to costs. Yet the agent fees Chelsea pay as a percentage of any transaction are understood to be at approximately the Premier League average. Chelsea brought in £490.9m in revenue, the second-highest total in their history. This was largely due to a top-four finish, winning the #UECL and their participation and victory at the Club World Cup. Understand revenue for 25/26 is projected to increase to approximately £700m. This would mean a total revenue increase of around 50% since Clearlake-Boehly took charge. Chelsea Women posted an overall loss of £17.1m and generated revenues totalling £21.3m. Matchday revenues increased to a record £3.0m, with the average league attendance exceeding 10,000 per match. Chelsea expect to remain compliant with all regulatory requirements.

Tin hat on and retreating to a safe distance. Here's my 26-man England World Cup squad. Not who I think Thomas Tuchel will pick, who I would pick. Plenty of points for civilised discussion & disagreement - and a chance to pick yours. bbc.co.uk/sport/football…
