@LIRSorg The ceiling was never 110,000 as you allege. That was Obama's 2016 proposal. That year it actually was 85,000. So, its not a 40% reduction as you suggest.

@LIRSorg The 110,000 figure is misleading. 110,000 was the number proposed by Obama in 2016--though never implemented. The actual ceiling for that year was 85,000. I suspect that you know this. So, it's not a "more than a 77% decrease... in just three years" as you allege.

In FY18, the Administration cut the ceiling for refugee arrivals from 110,000 to an unprecedented low of 45,000. Lowering that number to 25,000, if implemented, would reflect more than a 77% decrease to the U.S. refugee ceiling in just three years. #RaiseTheCeiling

@ExposingtheELCA Maybe it's just me, but Rev. Bolz-Weber looks like one of those Japanese death dolls in that pic with Ms. Steinem.

"Mormons also believe that there are other gods and goddesses outside the Godhead, such as a Heavenly Mother who is the wife of God the Father, and that faithful Mormons may attain godhood in the afterlife." bit.ly/2G5fNqQ

@NathanRinne @JonAlanSchmidt @karltervo Precisely because a Mormon baptism is no baptism at all. Your argument suggests that spiritual reality is determined by the faith (in this instance, mere opinion) of the convert. Words are connected to reality. Mormon faux-baptisms are demonic, b/c connected to their false gods.

@NathanRinne @karltervo Mormons' words have different meaning. They worship a false god. Words are connected to reality; they do not mean whatever anyone says they mean. Invalid baptism.

The resignation of Rev. Dr. Holger Sonntag (a vigorous defender of Luther's true teaching on the Decalogue) from the LCMS clergy roster is a great loss to that church body. God's blessings and mercy to everyone. bit.ly/2C7CR5K

@FrJohnMistey I respect you as a brother in Christ, and I would encourage you to look at all the collected quotes available on LutheranOrthodoxy.wordpress.com. The blog clearly contrasts Forde, et al. with Scripture, the Lutheran Confessions, Luther, and so on.

LutheranOrthodoxy.wordpress.com shows how Gerhard Forde (and his disciples) disagree with Scripture, the Lutheran Confessions, Martin Luther, and Orthodox Lutheranism. There is no reconciling Forde's teachings with an inerrant Scripture or the substitutionary atonement, for example.

@FrJohnMistey Words have meaning. Forde's words are sufficiently clear. Most secondary sources are exercises in apologetics, promoting Forde's views. Truly scandalous. "You don't understand Forde" is no defense. We do understand him; Scripture proves him wrong.

@FrJohnMistey I'm unfamiliar with "sort of accurate". It's entirely accurate in Forde's case; his position is consistent across the breadth of his writings.
